Tenerife: Guided Canyoning Experience in Los Arcos

1. Tenerife: Guided Canyoning Experience in Los Arcos

Go on a guided rappelling adventure in Los Arcos Canyon in Tenerife. Learn a new skill as you take in the immense, swooping geological formations surrounding you in the canyon. Learn all about the canyon's geological history from your local guide. Meet your guide, pop on your helmet and harness, and start off with a little hiking route. See and learn about the endemic flora and talk about the history of this iconic location from your local guide. Then, get taught how to rappel before putting your newfound skills to the test on a range of walls created by volcanic ash. Once you reach the first rappel, the fun begins. Descend with ropes through several walls — each one is very different from the other — all of which are made of volcanic ashes. Throughout the tour, be amazed by the scenery that surrounds you, including Los Arcos, which was formed by the erosion of the water that passed through many years ago. Once at your last rappel, embark on another short hike to return to your meeting point.

The approach to the ravine begins on a forest track with a gentle slope, where you’ll walk for about 45 minutes. The start of your descent begins with a first rappel of about 22 meters. I can't say enough good things about our guide Jorge and about this trip. Super well managed, gorgeous canyon, spectacular day. Jorge was very knowledgeable and safe. He put everyone at ease. I'm an experienced climber and was impressed by his safety systems and knowledge. Each rappel had it's own challenges, keeping us interested. He taught us well and also adapted to the comfort of each member of the group. He took the time to make sure everyone got great photos and taught us about the local flora and geology. We absolutely strongly recommend this trip and Jorge.

Highly recommended tour! The guide Jorge knows his trade. We felt safe and in good hands at all times. The group size was well chosen with 7 people. You walk through a beautiful landscape and Jorge gives interesting information and explanations about the different rock shapes and plants. The guide took photos at spectacular places and at the abseiling points, which were sent to us the very next day. An all-round successful adventure with a little adrenaline and a lot of fun!

Jorge was a really great canyon guide. He knows his stuff, can tell many interesting things about nature and, probably the most important thing: with him you feel very aloof. A great experience with a great guide in an impressive landscape! Or simply: this was a 5-star-plus excursion!! Thanks George :)

It was just great fun. Jorge provides the orientation that is needed, but also leaves the freedom to try things out. Thumbs up!

Great guide and had a nice tour. The canyon is very easy for more experienced participants, but the scenery is magnificent
