Full description

Travel back to the days of Ancient Egypt on a full-day tour of Luxor, with round-trip transfers by air-conditioned vehicle from Hurghada. En route, admire views of the River Nile and the villages of Upper Egypt.

Upon arrival in Luxor, go to the Colossi of Memnon to admire the gigantic statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, built 3,400 years ago. Continue to the Valley of the Kings to see where the ancient Egyptians buried their most powerful nobles.

Descend into the tombs of Egyptian rulers, and admire well-preserved paintings and hieroglyphs.

Next, learn the legend of the 1st female pharaoh of Egypt at the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Discover the extraordinary mortuary temple she had built, complete with terraces of colonnades, a hypo-style hall, and hundreds of statues, paintings, and reliefs.

After lunch at a local restaurant, continue your tour at the Temple of Karnak. Beautifully preserved, it provides the perfect opportunity for an imaginative journey back in time to the days of the Ancient Egyptians.

Stroll at leisure to form an impression of how the immense pylon was built. Walk the avenue of ram-head criosphinges, marvel at more than 100 pillars at the hypo-style hall, and see ancient hieroglyphs, chapels, statues, and a holy lake.

The superstitious can approach the scarab close to the lake and surround it 3 times clockwise; according to legend, offspring will soon follow.

Much better experience than Cairo, City of Luxor is much much less crowded and better looking for eye. would recommend taking a boat trip across the Nile, very nice experience. And don't forget to spin around the scarab in temple of Karnak! only 7 times, for a good luck :)

Great trip. Private trip is a bit expensive with all the extras but it was worth it. The trip was very comfortable, quick, enjoyable thanks to the great driver and the guide was funny, friendly and talked about the history of the locations well. Also gave some useful tips and even though there were some sales pitches they were all good deals and things that I wanted personally so I didn’t feel forced like with the hagglers.

We had a really good day - Aziz our guide was very knowledgable about the ancient sites, and also gave us advice on things like navigating busy areas and preventing unnecessary tipping which made the day much less stressful than it might have been otherwise. The structure of the day worked really well meaning we got to see plenty in just one day. The roads are very busy and sometimes bumpy but the drivers were great. Lunch at the restaurant was nice.
