Full description
Following breakfast, your guide will meet you at the reception of your hotel, at which point you will go to Mtskheta, the old capital of Georgia. Whilst there you will visit the Djvari Monastery (4th-6th century), and the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century), which is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Later on, you will continue your wine tour with a wine tasting at Chateau Mukhrani, founded in 1878 by the Prince of Mukhrani, the heir of the royal family of Georgia. You will then visit Ivan Mukhranbatoni’s palace, which has a forest, park, and stable, where you will look at the vineyards and visit the ultra-modern winery. You will then visit Iago’s winery in the central region of Kartli, village Chardakhi, where you will be able to taste this vintner’s superb rare wines and enjoy lunch. Later the evening, you will enjoy natural wines at the Vino Underground wine bar, where wine-makers will be pleased to introduce their wines and share their own stories about wine making.
