Full description
Your tour will begin in the morning, as you set off to the very east of Georgia to the lovely city of Sighnaghi. This most romantic city of Georgia is famous for its old Georgian architectural style, amazing views over the Alazani Valley, and the second-longest castle wall in the world. Following this you will go down to the Alazani Valley, where you will reach the wine village of Velistsikhe. It is here that you will visit the 300-year-old wine cellar of Numisi. You will be free to have lunch in Velistsikhe (your guide will advise you on the best places), before you continue your tour visiting the unique winery of Khareba (the "wine tunnel in the rock"). Here you will be able to see the difference in European-style winemaking and traditional Georgian winemaking, before tasting the best wines produced by the Khareba Winey. Following this, you will visit the Alaverdi Monastery and the Matsoni House. The monastery was founded by the Assyrian monk Joseph (Yoseb, Amba) Alaverdeli in the 6th century. Your tour will conclude later that evening, as you return back to Tbilisi.

It was a very good memory.

The guide and driver were very kind and it was a hospitality tour similar to Japan. The Japanese tour was a little expensive, so I was sorry but I was glad to choose it. The driver's driving was also very safe driving and I could enjoy the tour with confidence. It was a memorable tour that responded to these intentions and requests, made various proposals as needed, and had various experiences. Thanks to guide Tamuna and driver Atiko. Also, when you go to Georgia, you will be indebted.

We were not told it would take 2 hours to get to Signaghi and there we got to climb a fort and see the town/city only from the car. we thought we were tasting wine there. The team appeared lost and we were taken into an abandoned/house under construction to climb 3 flights of unsafe stairs to see the view. although nice it wasn't a good outcome after driving 2 hours. it was dirty and riddled with spiders to give context. no communication from the guide although she seemed young and probably inexperienced in your guiding. we had to probe and ask questions. we went on to an authentic home where they make home made wine and the tasting experience was authentic and lovely with cheese and bread. Lunch there was prescribed. basically what they had to offer. we bought a wine bottle to go with our lunch. By this point we lost faith in the tour meeting our expectations and cancelled out the monastery visit and went on to the Tunnel winery which was the best part.
