Full description

Take a tour of Stromboli and Panarea, both belonging to the Aeolian Archipelago. Enjoy this unique chance to see volcanic eruptions and learn the history of these ancient islands.

On a private motorboat equipped with toilets and bar, arrive at Panarea onto Calajunco Bay and the small Zimmari Beach.

Take in the quiet beauty of these stunning beaches as you explore the second smallest of the islands. Meander along its winding streets and gravel beaches, taking in the perfect Sicilian backdrop.  Sail around the rocks in front of Panarea and then proceed to Stromboli, home to one of Italy’s 3 active volcanoes.

Constantly active, you will be able to see the eruptions from the sea and the many viewing points on the island. This spectacular phenomenon has given the island the nickname 'Lighthouse of the Mediterranean'. After looking over the small village of Ginostra from the sea, you have the chance to explore the historical center of San Vincenzo until sunset. Back on board guests sail out to sea to watch the dramatic eruptions of the Sciara del Fuoco, fire slide, against the night’s sky.

The tour guide Alexandria was great! She told different things along the way in Italian, English and German. We first went to Panarea, which was really nice. We had 2 hours to walk around and visited the prehistoric village. Next was de island Stromboli with the beautiful black beatches. Here we could walk around for about 3 hours. Our tour guide organised a little tour and showed us the highlights of the island. When we were on the boat again we went to the other site of the island and saw an amazing sunset and a lot of little errutions of the vulcano Stromboli. It was a really great day!

Good tour, however a couple of minor concerns. First being after paying for the tour and on the bus, we were advised that their was an additional 5 euro per person. This was not set out previously. Second was the ferry was packed and we were like sardines. I would hate to have been an older traveller. There were people leaving their bags across seats and children sprawling and taking up space. If I’m paying for a tour, I expect to st least get a seat. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we were priveleged to see Stromboli erupt 5 times
