Full description

Walk up the striking Tamarind Falls canyon, one of Mauritius' most popular attractions, led by an experienced mountaineer. Meet your guide at the Henrietta bus station for a safety briefing before you head to the starting point of the hike. The first section of the walk will be through luscious rainforest, including a river crossing where you can choose to relax in a natural jacuzzi. Make sure to keep an eye out for the phenomenal and rare endemic birds, and plants. Watch the connected waterfalls flowing and listen to the birds chirping as you climb up the canyon’s seven platforms and one rock-scrambling section. Along the way, your guide will tell you historical stories about Mauritius' past, and the significance of these falls. Pause at the fifth platform to take a dip in the three connected waterfalls’ luscious waters. Take a moment to admire the breath-taking views surrounding you as you comfortably cool down. Carry on walking up a few steep sections before enjoying a packed lunch while you take in the deep canyon’s scenery beneath you. Try not to let your jaw drop too low as you see the intense beauty and nature Mauritius is so famous for, and make sure to snap some well-deserved photos. Let the rushing water massage your back under the last waterfall before setting off to reach the summit of the Tamarind Falls. Even though the official name of the hike is called the “7 Cascades”, or seven waterfalls, there are 13 in total — all of which you will visit on this tough yet stunning hike.

It was our second hike with Kevin. We wanted a professional, so it was no question that we want him as a guide again. He guided us at Le Morne Brabant too, and was very good choice for the Tamarind falls too. We saw all the waterfalls, all the platforms, we had multiple chance to swim, a quick pedicure by the fishes at the last platform, and he also packed tasty sandwiches. Clearly, this guy is a professional, but also very friendly. If you want to have fun while hiking around the 7 cascades, we recommend his hikes. Thanks Kevin, we enjoyed every moment of both tours. We will never forget these places. :)

Kevin our knowledgeable tour guide knows the terrains in-depth and patiently showed us how to trek into the forest. It was a 6 hour hike but worth all the time and effort. The under the water falls experience was the highlight in our tour. This is a must try tour. Can’t forget Lady the dog who hiked with us. Kevin keep the good work. See you down the road.

Very fun and adventurous. The Trails Are rough and We found the Tour quite challenging but Anyone with moderate fitness can do it. You will be rewarded with the Most Beautiful Views. Also, we were quite challenging to our Guide Kevin with one smoker's Lung and one twisted ankle on the way but he was always patient and positive, Providing the best individual experience for our small group and Adapting to our pace and needs. The guide knows about the endemic flora and gave some information about the history of the island. We'd recommend!
