2. Taipei Sunrise Excursion: Yangmingshan National Park
Your tour guide will meet you at your accommodation in Taipei City and take you to Yangmingshan National Park. It will take 40 minutes transfer from Taipei City to the sunrise point of Yangmingshan National Park - Datun Air Navigation Station, which is the highest accessible point of the city. Spend 15 minutes here and enjoy the sunrise from the ocean of the north-east coast of Taiwan.
Afterwards, visit Siaoyoukeng Recreation Area, which is about 20 minutes from Datun Ait Navigation Station. Watch the natural sulfur for 20 minutes. It is approximately 805 meters above sea level and is known for the fumaroles, sulfur crystals and spectacular 'landslide terrain' formed by post-volcanic activity.
The last stop of the Yangmingshan National Park is Qingtiangang, about 15 minutes from Siaoyoukeng, a lava terrace formed when the lava from Mt. Zhugao overflowed after its eruption. Because of its flat terrain, a ranch was established and the area was used as a pasture for grazing cattle during the Japanese occupation. At the end of your dawn excursions, your tour guide will drop you off at your accommodation or any other place in Taipei city.
