Meet your tour guide and driver, relax and enjoy a scenic drive along the twisty mountain road, we will take you to Shiding, a rural district of New Taipei City. Located in the south of Shiding District, Thousand Island Lake, also known as Qiandao Lake in Chinese literally means a lake with thousands of islands. Shared the same name with the famous attraction in Zhejiang Province of Mainland China, the catchment area of Feitsui Reservoir surrounded by hills creates a similar scenery. The natural terrain and climate make the surrounding area of Feitsui Reservoir ideal farmland for tea-growing, including the well-known Wenshan Pouchong and Dong Fang Mei Ren (literally means “Oriental Beauty Oolong Tea”). The noted tea plantation Bagua Tea Garden is located in this area too, from the top of the hill, the neatly planted rows of tea look just like the symbols of Eight Trigrams. Continue your half-day tour through a 15-min drive to Pinglin District, where the famous Wenshan Pouchong is cultivated. The first stop is Pinglin Tea Museum, a Hokkien-style Siheyuan (quadrangle courtyard house), where you will see the tools and equipment for tea harvesting in the past, and learn about the history and development of the Taiwanese tea industry. Coming up is a local tea shop. Your guide and the tea instructor will give an introduction to Taiwanese tea, and how to properly brew Taiwanese tea during your visit. What people are saying about Taipei City

Our guide, Jones, was very knowledgeable about the places and the background of the establishments he brought us to. He brought us to food places that we would have never known about. We told him to surprise us with the places that we would bring us to and he did not disappoint us. Jones was also very fluent in English so there was no language barrier between us. This private food tour is highly recomended.

We had a very nice tour courtesy of our guide, Tim. Even though it was rainy the entire day, Tim made sure sure we had a great time. He is also very knowledgeable about the places we went to particularly Yehliu where he was able to explain to us details about the geologic formations there. Tim was also fluent in English so conversation was not a problem at all. This tour is highly recommended.

Joseph was my tour guide and he was amazing! He was really helpful and knowledgeable with the history of the places. He also accommodated to our likes and made the tour around the things that we liked. Amazing tour and tour guide, letting us know what are the must eat and must try! Was able to book him again for the city tour! Would totally go for the tours again:)

June was so funny and knowledgeable about local cuisine! She also had insightful things to say about the area itself, about Taipei and how it relates to my own country’s food culture. It was such a great experience! We even got to know some of the store owners and their history in the context of Taiwanese cuisine.

Our tour guide was amazing and educated on the lakes and tea process. The views are stunning. The bluish green water is magical. It’s worth the trip. Book it!
