6. Lisbon: 1 or 2-Hour Tagus River Boat Cruise
Leaving the docks, your journey goes along the north bank for half an hour, where many of the monuments of old Lisbon can be seen. Throughout the leisurely pace of this part of the tour, photographs and films can be easily taken.
Along the river you can always see the main bridge which hovers over the Tagus, which is among the 33 longest bridges of its kind in the world. Once you reach the bridge, the boat turns right to uncover the magnificent Cristo Rei in front of you. For those that choose the 1-hour cruise option, it will be at this point that you will return to the marina.
For those choosing the 2-hour cruise, you will continue onward to the center of Lisbon and to the famous Terreiro do Paço, from where you can see the S. Jorge Castle. The castle is seated on top of one of the seven hills, and dominates the city's medieval quarters. From the boat you can see the tops of several monuments and churches which are famous in the area.
The boat will then head to the south bank where you can see old pier and warehouse ruins which will soon be completely renovated. Looking back, you will enjoy beautiful views of the old city of Lisbon. You will also see an old 1920s fishing company, above which you can still see the Cristo Rei. There you will stop to take photographs of the view, following which you will travel beneath the bridge and along the south bank, constantly admiring the old monuments from afar.
Soon enough you will see the lighthouse of the Bugio in the distance, which indicates the end of the river and the start of the ocean. Following that the boat turns right in the direction of the Torre de Belém. It will then slowly return to the dock where the trip will end.
For those choosing the sunset cruise, the last tour of the day, you will travel under the bridge to take in the beautiful rays and colors of the city's sunset, along with good snacks and sparkling white wine. You area also welcome to select another option, which includes the 2-hour cruise complete with a welcome drink.
