Full description

Discover the caves and coves of Ortigia Island and admire a spectacular sunset on a sunset cruise. Savor prosecco with a tasting platter showcasing the best of local restaurant produce during your boat tour.

Begin the cruise by sailing toward the exit from the small port and heading toward the north coast. Here, meet the Capuchin cove and the first Capuchin cave before passing in front of the dolphin-shaped rock.

Next, enter the Coral Caves and marvel at the walls of soft red coral in each cave. Continue to the Grotta Dell’Amore, where the local partner will take photos you can collect at the end of the tour.

After, enter the largest cave on the Syracusan coast, the Grotta delle Stalattiti. See the impressive variety and play of colors formed inside the cave, as well as the strange shapes created naturally by the force of the waves and humidity.

Then, tuck into the onboard platter and uncork a delicious prosecco as you begin to return to Ortigia Island. On the way, stop for a swim in crystal-clear waters near Maniace Castle.

Hop back on the boat and wait for the sunset to arrive as you listen to the onboard music, played throughout the cruise. After admiring the sunset, conclude the tour by passing under the Umbertino Bridge.

We were greeted with a wonderful charcuterie board and Prosecco. The water was a bit rocky so unsafe to enter caves but took a long and leisurely cruise around the island. Our captain was very attentive and had a great playlist prepared. We all had a great time and thought it was one of the highlights of our trip!

Great experience for a landmark birthday with ample food and drinks. The only negatives was that there was absolutely no commentary (expected some background info on Ortigia and the caves) as our English speaking guide spoke little to no English and we did not get the photo stop as billed but lubricated by unlimited Prosecco we thoroughly enjoyed the experience regardless.

I've loved this sunset boat tour! The experience was incredible, cruising around the port and taking in the sunset views. Absolutely breathtaking and really worth the price! Towards the end of the tour, the boat stops in the Syracuse port to pick up the freshly made aperitifs from one of the restaurants! How incredible. Then you go back and enjoy the food out on the water with a glass of fizz. Perfect evening!
