However, the powerful vampire Count von Krolock also has his eye on Sarah and invites her to his castle. Alarmed by the sudden disappearance of Sarah, Alfred and Professor Abronsius go looking for her and the secret of vampires. The disguised pair is warmly welcomed by the fearsome Count von Krolock and his servant Koukol. The events build up over the following 24 hours and culminate at the midnight ball in the castle.
