Visit Strawberry Field, a former Salvation Army children’s home in the suburbs of Liverpool, made famous by the 1967 Beatles’ song ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’. Through archival footage, photographs, timelines, and a specialist media guide, experience the world where John Lennon played as a child and what happened behind the famous red gates. Immerse yourself in the life and times of Lennon through interactive exhibitions, and then enjoy a walk through the garden and woods, which some visitors claim to be a spiritually lifting experience. At Strawberry Field, you can also learn about the links with the Salvation Army and the work carried out here today as part of the ‘Steps to Work’ program. After you’ve explored, relax with some refreshments at the Imagine More Cafe and wander through the onsite gift shop.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The tour is full of interesting info and well presented. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We booked a table in the cafe and lunch was delicious. Highlight was walking in the garden with the beautiful music to listen to. We were lucky it was a beautiful, sunny day. We found the message of peace and reflection quite emotional.

We had a lovely morning at Strawberry Field and are very impressed with the work they do with the Steps to Work programme. We enjoyed the brilliant Beatles exhibition, except that we found the audio guide very difficult to use and missed out on a number of the interviews. The garden was lovely and the staff vey pleasant and helpful.

What a wonderful visit to this magical place. We expected to be here for about an hour but stayed for over 4!! had a superb coffee in the cafe as we had arrived early for our 11.30 slot. A very informative guided tour with easy to use device & ear phones followed by a walk around the gardens. Can't wait to see then band stand when it's completed. All of the staff were extremely helpful and went the extra mile to make our visit a memorable one. A must see visit for any Beatles fan who wants to know a little bit more about Strawberry Field!!
