Get off the beaten track and see residential Stockholm as well as historic monuments on this 3-hour guided bike tour. Suitable for active types, the energetic tour passes through the islands of Kungsholmen, Långholmen, and Södermalm as well as the Old Town, taking in sights such as City Hall, one of the homes and factories of Alfred Nobel and the former city prison. There are a few hills that you'll encounter along the way (it's not Denmark or southern Sweden), and you're more than welcome to hop off your bike if you need to. You will have plenty of opportunities to stop and take photos while learning more about Stockholm and its different islands. What about having dinner on an island and arriving there with your kayak? You don’t need to go far, we are in the middle of Stockholm, 10 minute walk from the tube station Hornstull. You wonder where to eat tonight, you would like something original but don’t really know where to go! Well, enrol in the adventure that will make you see Stockholm from the water and enjoy a nice barbecue on the way. What an original way to start your evening. We will start from Stockholm Långholmen Island at 18.00 and paddle one hour before having a dinner break in a very nice place. Enjoy the sunset swim in the water while your guide is grilling the sausages. We’ll then get back to paddling and make our way back to the starting point. The tour finishes at 21.00. Note that we will start at 17.00 and finish at 20.00 from the 14th of May to the 1st of June and from the 31st of August to the 30th of September. On the way, you will see Stockholm and notice the special colours that the old buildings take when the sun is setting this very special Scandinavian light on them. The colours reflect also on the water and make the experience very unique. You are in the city center but it feels like being in the countryside. Indeed Stockholm has the reputation of being a very green city and yes it is true. Trees all along the coast, migratory birds hanging around or even fishermen trying to catch big fish; are all present all summer. Suitable for a family, group of friends, couple or solo travellers. Lake Mälaren is the 3rd largest lake in Sweden (8th in Europe) and with its more than 8000 islands, 120 km in length and a very complex coastline is a true inner archipelago itself. Mälaren valley is the birth place of Swedish culture, full of historic events and sites from vikings to the modern days. This sunset kayak tour is a great combination of a relaxed paddling in the sunset light, nature experience, few historical remarks and of course a traditional evening fika on the beach! The guide will pick you up at your hotel within central Stockholm. After 30 min. drive you will reach one of the Stockholm's green oasis in the outskirts of the city and start your kayak experience with an introduction in kayaking and safety instructions before it`s time to get on the water! Paddling route is approx. 7 km which means some 1,5 - 2 cozy hours on the water and of course the very traditional evening fika with the guide´s special cake and coffee or tea. Rounding a couple of lone islands, paddling along a nature reserve and maybe with some luck seeing some of the many beavers coming out for a swim in the twilight - all that belong to the evening tour. And least but not last - try to catch your perfect sunset picture! See you on the lake!
