From Stirling you will drive into the Highlands to an area known as the Trossachs National Park where the Lowlands meet the Highlands.  Stop to purchase lunch in the heart of the National Park forest outside Aberfoyle, where you can enjoy the magnificent nature all around you. After lunch you take the backroad to Loch Lomond.  Admire the country's biggest loch which takes its name from the mountain Ben Lomond on the eastern shore. Join an hour-long cruise here to admire the loch from a different angle and enjoy the stories of the local wildlife, folklore, and history.  From there, it’s just a short drive back to Glasgow where you will arrive in the late afternoon. 

Join a guided tour of Stirling Distillery, home to Stirling Gin, and discover the history of the trendy spirit and the scientific process behind distilling gin. Learn how to make a perfectly crafted Gin & Tonic for you to then taste the iconic drink.  On arrival, you will be served a bespoke welcome cocktail. Start the guided tour with learning from your passionate guide about the history of gin, from its medical uses to today's Scottish gin craze. Walk through the still room to see the copper Portuguese stills as your guide explains the science behind gin distilling. Your guide will then continue the tour by showing you how the bottling, waxing and labelling system works. Make your own way to the meeting point in Edinburgh Old Town, and hop onto a coach or minivan. Head to Stirling, a medieval city that played a vital role in Scottish history. Look out for the imposing Stirling Castle, which sits on mound of volcanic rock, overlooking the town and surrounding region. If you choose to, you can enter the royal fortress and walk through the royal chambers, once home to Scottish kings and queens. Explore for around an hour before you travel to a nearby whisky distillery. Walk through the brewery to discover the steps it takes to produce the spirit. Finish your visit with a sample of whisky. Continue on to the coastal town of St Andrews. Hear your guide recount the story of the city's past and explain its connection to Catholicism. On arrival, enjoy free time to wander around. View the remains of the ruined cathedral, once the biggest Catholic church in Scotland, or visit the renowned Old Course, the world's oldest golf course. Take the opportunity to eat lunch here and after around two hours in St Andrews, begin the journey back to Edinburgh. Make one last stop in the village of South Queensferry to admire views of the Forth Bridge, an iconic Victorian structure, before your drive back to Edinburgh Old Town.

Depart from Edinburgh and journey north to South Queensferry, where you will enjoy a photo stop of the Queensferry Bridges. Continue on to Dewar's Aberfeldy Distillery for the first whisky-themed stop of the day. Spend 2 hours here for their Whisky and Chocolate tasting tour priced at £19.55 per person. Head on to Loch Lubnaig, and then to the Glenturret distillery. Located on the Turret River, just outside of Crieff, Glenturret Distillery is Scotland's oldest working distillery and still hand-crafts its whisky using the last remaining hand-operated mash tun in Scotland. Enjoy a fabulous day trip from Edinburgh to experience Scotland’s beautiful countryside just minutes from the capital.
