From Glasgow: Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond and Whisky Tour
- Duration: 9 hours
One of Scotland's largest and most important castles, Stirling Castle is the site of many important battles in Scottish history. It's well worth a visit, but before you go, here are some historical snippets.
The King’s Old Building is the oldest part of the castle, and is over 500 years old!
In 1297 William Wallace at the Battle of Stirling Bridge defeated the much larger English army by trapping them on the bridge.
A significant Scottish victory over the English, who had until this point occupied the castle for 10 years!
Mary Queen of Scots was crowned in Stirling Castle in 1543. She was only 9 months old, and apparently cried throughout the ceremony.
The castle is now a popular tourist site, and hosts cultural events and concerts regularly.
The castle is open 7 days a week, in winter 9:30AM to 5:00PM and in summer 9:30AM to 6:00PM.
A standard adult ticket costs £14.50
Tours are not compulsory, however they are reccommended and highly enjoyable!

An amazing trip with an oustanding guide. Grant made this trip, he gave us so much information about the areas we visited such as Dunkeld Cathedral, The Hermitage, Queens View pitlochry and the finale Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery. Grant's music selection, jokes, and general wit and charm where outstanding, the experience was incredible.
Great tour, you get to see a lot of Scotland in a relatively short period of time. You do spend a lot of time on the bus but the scenery is wonderful. Stephen is a phenomenal guide and overall I had a really fun time.
It was very nice experience with reliable driver and tour guide. Thanks a lot from Eric who gave us very useful information related to our tour.
Had a really great day out, our guide Kenny was so nice! He had great knowledge about all things Scotland, thoroughly enjoyed!
Colin is an excellent and funny guide! He is patient too, even with children. Have a great fun!
