Full description
Start the adventure in the early-afternoon in Stavanger, with a 2-hour fjord cruise. View Stavanger from a different perspective and get an overview of the surrounding fjords, islands, and mountains. Travel through the Høgsfjord, before navigating under a suspension bridge that spans the mouth of the Lysefjord. Here, steep mountain walls towering hundreds of meters above the fjord emerge. Feast your eyes on majestic Preikestolen, which appears to reach into the sky above the spectacular Lysefjord. Then visit Vagabond’s cove, where Rødne will share the legend of this mysterious natural landmark. The captain will also carefully steer the boat’s bow up to the Hengjane waterfall, where you’ll have the opportunity to sample its crystal-clear water. During the cruise, choose between enjoying the striking scenery from the comfort of the boat’s sheltered cabin or venturing out onto the spacious sundeck. Once ashore, meet your hiking guide, who will transport you to the base of the hiking trail. After a short briefing, start your hike to Preikestolen. Enjoy the Autumn time of year with fewer visitors, stunning flame-colored foliage, and a splendid ambient light which seems to dance across the fjord’s mountainsides. Follow your guide up through the shifting terrain and onward to the mountain’s plateau. This late in the year, weather conditions are constantly changing. As needed, adjust the equipment you use (ice spikes, etc.) in accordance with the changing conditions. Along the way, there will be opportunities to catch your breath and snap photos of the spectacular views around you. After 2.5 hours of trekking, be rewarded with a panoramic view of some of the most dramatic scenery Norway has to offer. Your guide will serve you a warm drink and snack while allowing you time to enjoy a well-deserved break at the cliff’s edge. Head up to an awe-inspiring viewpoint that overlooks both Preikestolen and the Lysefjord. Once darkness falls on your way down, your guide will provide you with headlamps to ensure that you safely navigate the last stretch of the trail. After a few last breathes of crisp mountain air, you’ll return as a group to Stavanger. During the drive, your guide will navigate through the world’s longest undersea road tunnel.

Shocking. 1. We started the hike so late in the day (13:40) that by the time we had gotten to the top (15:50) it was dark and you could see absolutely nothing. When this is a sight you wanted to see for so long it was so disappointing. 2. Because it was dark, some of the older people found it really difficult to come down and it therefore took us hours. 3. Because it took us hours to come down we were late for the ferry and if we hadn’t of ran we would have missed it. 4. The ferry dropped us off at a different point to the pick up and it took me 25 minutes to walk to the car. 5. On the info sheet it literally says “focus on the experience and leave the photography to us”. I must admit here I missed the small print about pre ordering. But regardless, it was misleading hence why I didn’t bring my camera. Then later find out it’s $40 USD. I have no photos of the trip. Those they took are blurred. It’s just a joke. I’ve wanted to do this for years and I’m just gutted...
