What people are saying about State of Mexico

What a wonderful introduction to two of Mexico's most iconic volcanoes: Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. While you're on this hike, you could contemplate the Aztec myth regarding these mountains. The trail is replete with majestic views of Popocatépetl continuously being revealed and concealed by clouds. I also enjoyed the hike through forests with tall grass; there was something quite ethereal about walking through tall grass. Carlos, our guide, was absolutely fantastic. He was very patient and attentive to potential issues regarding altitude sickness, though none in our group of four was affected by it. For lunch, Carlos took us to a roadside restaurant where I had some pretty amazing tacos. I would highly recommend this particular hike. It was one of the most beautiful treks I have ever taken.

The climb up to the summit of Nevado de Toluca was definitely a crowning highlight of my trip to Mexico. Although it is by no means a stroll in the park, I was grateful that I didn't have to be a mountaineer to reach the summit of the fourth highest peak in Mexico and the seventeenth highest peak in North America. The views throughout the entire hike are magnificent and stirring. Our guide Johannes was fantastic. He was very patient and easygoing, always very watchful to potential altitude sickness issues. He has taken trekkers up Nevado de Toluca over a hundred times, so you are definitely in good hands. I would highly recommend this trek up to the summit. This is the Mexico of storied volcanoes, one I will always remember fondly.

The hiking between the volcanos was a great experience. I was the only participant that day so my guide always made sure we were walking in the right pace for me. The panorama was stunning and l could take a couple of great pictures of Popocatépetl. My guide Bernardo was very friendly and always made sure l was feeling good. He also provided me with additional information about the nature and Mexico in general.

Get out of CDMX and discover a world away from crowds and cars. An absolute must. I will surely book another mountain hike next time I’m in Mexico.

The service is incredible and Highly recommended. Wonderful your guide, she was so sweet and made us all feel happy. Our driver was the best.
