Excellent way to enter the Hermitage before general admission and enjoy the art treasures before the crowds really build up. We had been in the Gallery the afternoon before in a group of 15 and the crowds were thick, especially near the Rembrandts and the famous bird clock. For us the extra we paid was well worth it to enter before 1030. Some who had booked this tour, arrived a bit late, so we had to really hurry to enter before 1030. Our admission ticket said 1020, so it was only a little early, but, as I said before, well worth it.

We really liked the host! We got some interesting facts about the Hermitage before going in which made us understand the use of the Hermitage before it was a museum better. Overall the museum was really nice and there was a lot to see. You could easily spend 3 hours+ there. We really recommend to look up some things you really want to see beforehand. Come as early as possible so it's a bit less busy. BTW: if you also want to go to the general staff building; Rossi wing you have to pay extra! (300 roebels) Because this ticket is not valid there.

Excellent guide provided comprehensive and well-informed tour.

This was an excellent tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made sure the group saw key artworks and state rooms. We all had some problems with accessing the guide's commentary using our own phones with the earpieces provided, but once we abandoned these and simply relied on listening to the guide's voice, the issue was resolved. We were very impressed with the guide's knowledge of art history. We would recommend this tour.
