Barcelona: Flamenco & Tapas in El Born

1. Barcelona: Flamenco & Tapas in El Born

Just minutes away from the noise of Las Ramblas and the crowded coastline of Barceloneta, an expert local guide will take you through the trendiest district in Barcelona, El Born, where you will be able to admire the greatness of the Cathedral (icon of Catalan gothic architecture), and will learn about Catalonia’s recent past at Centre Cultural del Born, home also to the best conserved archaeological site in the city. Discover the Spanish Gastronomy tasting Basque Pintxos and the best Seafood tapas from the mediterranean. We will visit 2 bars and in each bar we will taste some tapas and pintxos. Pintxos (which means "toothpicks" or "small skewers", depending on who you ask) are a Basque culinary tradition that has extended to Barcelona and is the art of making delicatessen small bites which can become the sole component of a wonderful dinner. Then continue to the former fishermen’s village of Barceloneta, where you will taste delicious mediterranean seafood tapas like mussels, shrimp croquettes, octopus and more. After visiting the Born District passing through Santa Maria del Mar and Passeig Colon, you will enjoy an intimate flamenco show surrounded by the Baroque atmosphere of Dalmases Palace, a hidden treasure from the 17th Century and once the meeting place of an aristocratic society of scholars.

Barcelona: 4-Hour Private Picasso Museum & Walking Tour

2. Barcelona: 4-Hour Private Picasso Museum & Walking Tour

Enjoy a private guided tour of one of the most popular museums in Barcelona. After admiring the work of Picasso and learning about his connection to Barcelona, your guide will take you on a walking tour of the historic El Born district. Your 4-hour tour begins with a visit to the Picasso Museum, where you’ll hear about the formative years of Pablo Picasso. The ingenuity of the young artist is revealed through the 4,251 works that make up the permanent collection. Opened in 1963, the Picasso Museum also reveals his relationship with Barcelona: a close and inseparable link that was forged in his adolescence and youth, and endured until his death. The museum's collection covers the formative years of the artist's life, and is practically complete until the Blue Period. The museum also houses an important representation of works from 1917, the Las Meninas series (1957), and a complete collection of prints. After visiting the Museum, your guide will take you on a 2-hour private walking tour in the El Born district of Barcelona. Admire landmarks such as the famous Basilique of Santa Maria del Mar, the lovely streets of the district, and depending on your preferred itinerary, perhaps the Cathedral of Barcelona and the Roman wall and ruins.

an all-round successful evening

We were a group of 5, 2 x knowledge, 1 australia, 2 Germany. Our guide Miquele was great, his Spanish accented English took some getting used to as he spoke very very quickly, almost without a period or a comma. The information about the tour was excellent, as was the visit to the tapas bar. The information about the meeting point was not quite correct, we had been standing in front of the given house number for a while until a competition guide showed us the responsible office. From now on everything went perfectly.

Richard is the best!! What a treat! Smart kind enthusiastic and passionate about Barcelona and welcoming its travelers. We navigated through the gothic area to the park and arc de triumph to cobblestone streets making our way to the Born District from there we had a wonderful experience with the Flamenco dancing and hitting restaurants for tapas. HIGHLY recommend Richard. Such a great night! Traveling with my college aged daughter.
