Visit the historic Diocletian’s Palace with a guide on this 1.5-hour tour of Split. Take in the churches, cathedrals, city walls, gates and bustling squares, noting the diverse architectural influences. Once you’ve seen the many sights in the city, walk up Marjan Hill, where you can enjoy panoramic views over the city and the Adriatic. Head back to the old town of Split and your guide will point out a jazz bar where you can enjoy a glass of wine or the best Guinness in town. Tours operate in the morning and evening when it's cooler, unless you’d rather see the changing of the guard ceremony that occurs around mid-day in high season.

Our guide Baldo was just perfect! He was so enthusiastic and full of happy energy, that he actually kind of danced when he was talking about the palace. Baldo talked about Croatian life and history much more thoroughly than I could have ever expected - wonderful! Baldo is very kind-spirited and polite, so he made everyone feel good. As he has studied to be a history teacher, he has both the knowledge and the skill to keep everyone interested. When he took us to Marjan Hill in the end, we took a ”Baldo appreciation photo” with the whole group worshiping him :)!. A great start for my week in Crowtia :)!

First of all, Gabby was amazing. So well informed and enthusiastic. We felt really lucky to have her as our guide. Also, she is adorable. She looks a lot like Gwyneth Paltrow. Our tour guide, Petra, led us on a fact filled tour of the old city and up to the first viewing platform of Marjan Hill. She timed our tour perfectly to catch Diocletian's greeting in the main square of the palace. Though we walked for 1.5 hours, the tour was not exceptionally exertional or challenging.
