Full description
Plitvice Lakes National Park is one of the greatest natural wonders of Europe. On 8 April 1949, it was proclaimed Croatia’s first national park. Plitvice Lakes were internationally recognized on 26 October 1979 with their incorporation onto the UNESCO World Heritage List. For all those things it is often an irresistible destination for tourists from all around the world. Your tour starts at 7:00 AM and lasts for approximately 10 hours. You will meet up in Split and be greeted by your English-speaking guide and then board your transportation or the day. While driving you will have the chance to enjoy the beautiful Croatian panorama as you drive towards the Plitvice Lakes National Park. Once there and with a ticket in your hand our guide will explain the details. You will be given a map of the park and precisely explained the itinerary. You will have 4 hours of free time that you can use exploring sixteen beautiful lakes of crystal blue-green water and hypnotic cascades, touring 7 different routes, hiking 4 different hiking trails, or just lounging in the shade. Plitvice are known as a natural phenomenon because they keep changing through sedimentation of calcium carbonate and create special kinds of algae and moss, tufa or travertine which has been deposited and is still deposited to form the natural dams that separate the lakes. Since the process is going on today, just as it always has, new travertine barriers, curtains, stalactites, channels, and cascades are being built and the existing ones are changing. So it doesn’t matter if you have visited the lakes before, they probably look different now, so you can visit again and never be bored. Besides the lakes, there are some interesting caves in which remains of prehistoric settlements have been found. After touring you can also catch a boat or train ride. Around 5:00 PM you will head back to Split and arrive around 8:00 PM

Great organization, make sure to take a sweater with you as it can be cold in the morning and especially during the boat tour. Take your own lunch if you can in case the picnic area where you have to buy food is crowded. You will gain time. The driver Mario was amazing and shared with us pieces of history of Croatia. Our local guide Anita was Awsome as well, she took us through the entire plitvice experience. Thank you for your professionalism. Right now is a good time to visit as there are not many tourists, when usually a guide has a group of 50pax we were 8pax :)

Excellent excursion, totally worth it. the lakes are amazing. In our case, we really enjoyed the guide from the Booker company (sorry for forgetting your name!) And Mario, the driver, a genius, who told us a bit about the history of the country. On the way back, as there was some time left, they gave us a 1 hour walk through Trogir. Very good experience!

Completely sensational, an absolute must, definitely recommend!

The Plitvice lakes were truly stunning, you honestly have to go there if you are visiting Split and this tour is fantastic! Our driver Mario was excellent, very friendly, helpful and attentive, our tour group was small and he really arranged the day to make sure we got the most out of it. Our tour guide round the lakes was also informative and friendly, we all had a truly wonderful day with incredible memories. Thank you Mario and everyone else in the team!!
