Masada & Dead Sea Tour: Full-Day from Jerusalem

1. Masada & Dead Sea Tour: Full-Day from Jerusalem

Start the day with pick-up from your hotel in Jerusalem and head to the Dead Sea, via the Judean hills. Your drive continues from there along the shores of the Dead Sea, to the desert fortress of Masada. Arrive at Masada, where your guide will tell you about the heroic story of the Jewish fighters. You’ll ascend Masada by cable car and then tour the mountain fortress that was built by King Herod. This is the spot where the Zealots of the 1st century made their last stand against the Roman troops. You’ll explore the site to see the remains of the walls, palaces, synagogue, water cisterns, mosaic floors and Roman baths. When you've completed this part of the tour, descend Masada by cable car. Your next destination is the Dead Sea. Its shores are the lowest point on dry land on earth! You’ll have the opportunity to float and swim in the Dead Sea waters that many believe have special therapeutic effects. Please note: from 17th to 23rd January 2019, the visit to Massasa will be replaced by a visit to Qumeran and Ein Gedi nature reserve.

From Ashdod Port: Jerusalem And Bethlehem Small Group Tour

2. From Ashdod Port: Jerusalem And Bethlehem Small Group Tour

Your guide will be waiting for you with your name on the sign as you arrive at the port of Ashdod. Join a small group of 6-16 people for the drive to Jerusalem in a new, air-conditioned van. While in Jerusalem, you'll visit the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane, and the Jaffa Gate. You'll see both Christian and Jewish Quarters of Jerusalem, for a complete experience of this famed city. See the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the Via Dolorosa, and the Western Wall or Wailing Wall. To round out your visit to the Holy City, you'll have a chance to explore the colorful Arab Souk. In Bethlehem you'll visit the Church of Nativity, and The Grotto if queues and accessibility allow. Then you'll have time for local Palestinian shopping. This is a mandatory requirement from the Palestinian Tourism Service, and might be the only time you'll ever be able to claim that you just had to shop! After your visit to Jerusalem and Bethlehem, you will be returned to the port at Ashdod.

A very fun experience, although it is necessary to mention that for what you pay it is short or rather little visits. I don't think it's good that paying € 100 you have to pay for a rather poor meal.

Our guide, Sharon, was both extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Israel. She gave historical information that helped us understand much more depth about Israel.

It was a great experience. I recomend this tour! Enough time at Dead sea; 2 hours... Guide was excelent! All the best!

We would have liked more time at Masada. I think we only had time for 1/2 on top.

Pick up right outside the ship and seamless travel at a nice constant pace
