Adelaide Like a Local: Customized Guided Tour

2. Adelaide Like a Local: Customized Guided Tour

Explore the city with a friendly local who is passionate about his/her city and eager to share all the tips and tricks that will help you make the most of your trip. Meet where you're staying to get familiar with the neighbourhood, find out about the best places to eat and buy groceries, the easiest ways to get around, and the hidden gems you might have missed. By the end of the tour, you'll feel more comfortable in navigating the city and confident that you have all the information you need to make the most of your stay. Once we receive your booking, the supplier get in touch with you to confirm all the details for the tour: meeting place and time, language and your contact information, and also ask you some questions to get to know you better. They will hand-pick the right local for you based on your interests. Each tour is completely customized so you can choose the meeting location, start time and length that you prefer (minimum: 2 hours).  During the walking tour you will have the option of taking public transportation or taxi to get around the city (at your expense). The local guides (Lokafyers) are locals who are passionate about their city and love to meet travellers and share what they love about their city.  They are not professional tour guides and do these tours occasionally, which provides an authentic and personal experience that is like having a friend show you around their home city.  Through conversations with your Lokafyer, you’ll learn what it’s like to live in Adelaide, learn about cultural differences, local events and politics and also get to know each other on a personal level. With this experience, you won’t be just passing through the city, you’ll be part of it.

Mclaren Vale Hills Vines and Wines Bike Tour from Adelaide

3. Mclaren Vale Hills Vines and Wines Bike Tour from Adelaide

You will be picked up in central Adelaide and transported to Kuitpo Forest, a beautiful spot above the McLaren Vale wine region. You will be provided with a good quality mountain bike with front suspension & disc brakes, and a helmet if you do not have your own. Set off to explore the forest. Kangaroos and koalas can regularly be seen on the ride. Next is a lovely descent down Willunga Hill towards McLaren Vale, and then it’s time for wine tasting. Then ride through the vineyards and stop at a number of local wineries to sample their fare and perhaps purchase some wine to take home with you. Stop for a lunch comprising of a local produce platter along the way.  In the afternoon leave it to the group to decide your final visits- maybe a micro-brewery, another winery, a cafe/chocolate stop for a little desert, or if it’s really warm maybe a swim stop at one of the beautiful beaches that fringe the Vale. Finally, you will be picked up and transported back to Adelaide.  The ride is fairly leisurely and is suitable for anyone who is happy riding a bike on firetracks and country roads. The van can also pick up your wine purchases along the way so you don't have to carry them.

What people are saying about South Australia

Excellent!

We had a really wonderful day exploring the Mclaren Vale Hills. We are a couple and were joined by 4 other passengers who we all got along with really well. We all had E-Bikes (we are relatively fit and have never used E-Bikes before) and would totally recommend again! They were so easy to use, made the ride so much more enjoyable and everyone stayed as a group as we all went at a similar speed. The wine tastings were delicious at both venues as was the lunch. Our group then went to the microbrewery which was an extra charge if we bought anything - but didn't break the bank balance at all. The day was really well run by Ian and I would 100% recommend this trip. Thank you!

Good fun. Small group. First part of the ride is a mountain bike track; a little bit challenging. Lunch delicious selection of local produce. Wineries and boutique brewery offered good selection.

new, well maintained bikes, clean helmets. well paced, informative and 2 great venues. beer stop was just ok and on your own dime. had a wonderful ride and many tastes!

Raagini was exceptionally hospitable. Nothing was an issue. I indicated what I wanted to see and it was available. A great asset for Adelaide
