Full description

Embark on a round-trip boat transfer to Capri and explore this paradisical island at your own pace. Be picked up directly from your accommodation and enjoy a hassle-free transfer.

After pickup, board the boat at Marina del Cantone in Nerano for a fast, 30-minute trip to the coast of Capri Island. While on board, get recommendations on things to do in Capri from your host and learn about the history and legends of the island. Disembark on Capri and see the island at your own pace. Choose to visit the world-famous Piazzetta, browse the luxury shops, or soak up the views from the Tiberio Gardens and Monte Solaro. Follow the quieter alleys of Anacapri or make your way to the Blue Grotto. After, take the scenic route back to the mainland. Admire highlights as you sail Capri full circle, including the Green Grotto, the lighthouse at Punta Carena, the Faraglioni (a natural arch overlooking the sea), and the White Cave.

Then enter Ieranto Bay, the marine protected natural reserve, a pristine inlet located directly across from Capri and guarded by two Saracen Towers. It holds such beauty that, according to one legend, the Sirens chose it for their home. Return to Nerano in the evening.

The boat trip to and from the island was fantastic. At the end of the day you go around the island before setting off to the Marina on the mainland. Overall the trip to and from Capri each lasts 30 minutes. The trip around the island is an hour. You are picked up at Sorrento and the journey to the Marina takes about an hour. We found the local operator to be very responsive to emails and the bus driver very helpful and courteous.

Make sure you mark the private shuttle to Nerano if you are staying in Sorrento (getting there without it is expensive). Once you arrive to the port they take you to the island and explain all you need to get the best out of your time in the island. Notice the Capri island has two main locations, Capri and Anacapri (above Capri), so if you want to visit both locations I would advise you take the optional private shuttle they offer on your way to the island. If you don't take it, you'll have to guess how to get around and make lines.

We were picked up from the Sant'Antonino piazza in Sorrento - saving us the stress of driving up and down the mountainous roads and searching for parking. The boat trip was lovely, the scenery was fantastic and Vincenzo and Giovanni were so entertaining and informative. We took the shuttle up to Capri (€22 per person) and Anacapri as an alternative to waiting in line for the public bus. This gave us the added benefit of having Giovanni show us where the main areas and places of interest were, before we left to wander around for ourselves. You have the option of doing the blue grotto and the cable chairlift if you like (additional costs). Giovanni has a lively sense of humor, keeping us entertained with information of interest and even throwing in a song and a dance in between it all. I can highly recommend this tour!!
