Jordan is a very friendly and passionate winemaker, always ready to share a lot of meaningful information about the family wine production and the history of North Macedonia. And the wines... Omg, all the six wines we tasted were absolutely great, but the Chardonnay and the Merlot barrique in particular were just incredible. The food pairing with local delicacies was spot on. Would definitely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Skopje.

On our trip to Macedonia we went to Kartal winery. The wine tour started with a lesson how different types of wines are made and afterwards we had the wine tasting of a great selection of white, rose and red wines. Each wine was accompanied by a story about the origin, history and the occasional anecdote of the wine. Besides the wine we were offered tasteful appetizers that went well with the wines. The guide and his brother were very friendly people and the guide made us feel at home in the cozy room where we were sitting. He really gave us a taste of Macedonian hospitality (and of the great wines of course ;)). The tour was delightful and not expensive. At the end we bought two bottles of wine to take with us and the guide gifted us a third bottle, which we are very grateful for. Great tour! Me and my girlfriend happened to be the only visitors this day, and maybe that contributed to us having such a good time. :-) Our guide (Jordan?) had lots of information on how to make wine and on the differences in making red, white and rosé wine. Also on how to choose grapes and the harvesting of them and so on. Being just the two of us, Jordan, and his brother (Philip?), the wine tasting turned out to be more of a social thing, us being able to talk about not only the wines, but also about a lot of things regarding North Macedonia and what life is like there. All in all, an awesome tour! One little detail though, which is definitely not the fault of the brothers. We took a taxi from the center of Skopje, and the taxi driver did not know the place. He looked it up on google maps, big mistake! We ended up on a detour on basically goat trails and arrived from the back. Fun, but not very time efficient! Turned out that the place was literally meters off the main road. :-D
