3. Bucharest: 8-Day Explore Transylvania Tour
Day 1: Bucharest
Your guide will welcome you to the Otopeni International Airport, where you will then be transferred to your 4-star hotel in downtown Bucharest.
Day 2: Bucharest - Sibiu
Your day begins in Bucharest with a panoramic tour of the city. You will encounter such sites as Free Press Square, the Arch of Triumph, Victory Square and Avenue, the Royal Palace, Revolution Square, the Village Museum, one of the most impressive open-air museums in Europe and the Palace of Parliament. You will also experience the world’s largest, heaviest and most expensive administrative building.
Next, you can enjoy some free time for lunch in the amazing old town, before your tour continues with the Cozia Monastery, the oldest and most complex historical monument in Romania. You will then depart from Bucharest to the Medieval city of Sibiu, where you will be accommodated in a 4-star hotel.
Day 3: Sibiu - Alba Iulia - Hunedoara - Sibiu
After breakfast in your hotel, you will explore Sibiu’s Medieval charm with a walking tour through the old city center. After this, you will travel by modern bus to the beautiful city of Alba Iulia to visit the unique Alba Carolina Fortress, the largest and best-preserved fortress in Romania. Following lunch, your tour will take you to the Hunedoara region, where you can visit Hunyad Castle, a Gothic-Renaissance castle and one of the largest and most impressive castles in Europe. You will then spend the night in the same accommodation as your previous evening in Sibiu.
Day 4: Sibiu - Turda - Sighisoara
After breakfast on your final day in Sibiu, you will travel to the town of Turda to visit the salt mine, an impressive underground complex with history going back to Roman times and unique hypogeal scenery. After this journey to the center of the earth, your tour of Transylvania continues with Sighisoara, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved Medieval towns in Europe, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At the conclusion of day 4, you will spend the night in a 4-star hotel in Sighisoara.
Day 5: Sighisoara - Viscri - Brasov
Day 5 begins with breakfast in your hotel, before a city tour of Sighisoara, a stunning medieval town and the birthplace of Dracula. Next, the tour takes you to Viscri village, another UNESCO World Heritage Site of unspoiled beauty and serenity that fascinated the Prince of Wales so deeply that he bought and restored a house there. From Viscri, your tour of Transylvania continues with another amazing Medieval city of Brasov that you will explore with a walking tour. You will later spend the night in Brasov.
Day 6: Brasov - Zarnesti - Bran - Rasnov - Brasov
Following breakfast in the hotel, you will travel to Zarnesti for an amazing experience, a visit to Bears Libearty Sanctuary where rescued bears live in their natural environment. Next on your adventure, you will arrive in Bran where you will visit the world famous Dracula Castle and have lunch in this intriguing land in the heart of Transylvania. You will also visit and explore the impressive hilltop Rasnov Fortress, before returning to Brasov for another night in your Brasov accommodation.
Day 7: Brasov - Sinaia - Bucharest
After breakfast, you will travel to Sinaia, known as the "Pearl of the Carpathians”, where you will visit the Sinaia Monastery and one of the most stunning castles in Europe, Pele's Castle. From here, you will return to Bucharest and check into your 4-star hotel for the last evening of your tour.
Day 8: Bucharest
Following breakfast on the last day of the tour, you can enjoy free time and explore more sights in this dynamic city that proudly displays its history alongside modern culture. You will be transferred to the airport, having created amazing memories of your time exploring Transylvania.
