Full description
Sample some of Siem Reap’s finest street food on an evening tour of some of its night markets. During the tour, experience how Cambodian food has been influenced by Vietnamese, Chinese, French and Thai cuisines to form a unique style and flavor. Zip off the usual tourist trail and straight into foodie heaven. A local food-loving guide will uncover hidden treasures and snacks favored by locals, such as yellow bean cake or Khmer rice cake. Taste the seasonal fruits grown in and around Siem Reap, such as dragon fruit, mango, and tiny (but sweet) pineapples. The brave can try the stinky king of all fruit - the mighty durian! Learn about the spices used in local recipes and hear about traditional remedies. Next, go to a local picnic spot and wander around the food stalls, where you might find fried tarantulas, fried crickets, green mango with chili and salt, ducks eggs and much more. Save room for dinner at a local restaurant to sample local delicacies, before ending at a dessert stall where fruit shakes, fruit served with sweet condensed milk, and baked puddings are a specialty. After dinner, you have the option to return to your hotel, or on Pub Street, where you can experience Siem Reap’s bar and café life.

Not worth the money - lackluster

This evening street food tour consisted of one local restaurant for a noodle dish, stopping at a fruit market, and then dinner at a local restaurant. What kind of "street food" tour is that? We also got out of our tuk tuks at a street market but the guide literally breezed through without stopping to explain anything. This tour is not worth the value of the money, and did not give me a true idea of what Siem Reap street food is all about. Would never do it again nor would I recommend it. The 2 stars is simply for the tuk tuk driver and meeting 4 other cool travelers.
