Amazing experience! Incredible drivers especially when going off-road. Very experienced and professional. Our tour guide was Hor Heang and he is amazing. So passionate about the temples and Khmer culture. He has an incredible amount of knowledge and has brilliant English vocabulary. He was also very kind, patient and had a good sense of humour. It was like walking around with a friend. It seemed like he took us via different routes/entrances around the temples rather than going with the general flow of other tourists, so it never really seemed busy and we didn't have to wait or queue for certain parts inside the temples. He knew exactly which spots have good view points and took photos of us with our phones and also with his camera so he could email them to us, - a lovely service we did not expect. We were offered bottles of ice cold water, he checked if we needed the toilet, offered mosquito repellent and given a scarf that we used when riding on the Vespas. Such generous touches!
I took the 2pm tour and it was really nice to ride through the countryside as the sun was getting lower. A great break from the hustle of Siem Reap and the temples. Got a 10 minute intro with the motorbike which was easy to pick up and then it was time to ride. The roads can be sandy and uneven but it wasn’t too difficult. There were occasional 3 stops. I would give the tour a 3.5 because it’s not much more than riding through the country side, tour guide was nice but didn’t tell me much of anything about the route, why we were stopping where we stopped, or much of the history without prompt. As a result it is definitely overpriced but the countryside is well worth a visit because it truly is quite beautiful.
Prompt collection for the day followed by a quick but thorough training session on the Honda 125s. Then off into the countryside at an appropriately leisurely pace we didn't hurry all day. Fascinating insight into Cambodias rural economy and Bruce our guide was very informative without overloading us. We had a lovely lunch and rest by the lake and then made our way back to the owner's house where Bruce delivered us back to our hotel. A brilliant experience - hard on the backside after 6 hours in the saddle but a great experience!
Really great fun would definitely recommend it. I was luck to be only one booked for the afternoon tour. After showing I could ride the bike. A Honda dream 125cc bike we set off on dirt tracks. Through country side you would not find yourself. Really enjoyed it seeing rural Cambodia. It was a circular trip and some road work in traffic but the guide was great so just a case of following him. You will get dirty as the roads are all very dusty but well worth it if you want to get out of the city. Pick up was by motorcycle too
We loved this adventure. The drivers were highly skilled and safety minded and our guide was pleasant, cheerful and very knowledgeable. The fresh cooked, hot breakfast prepared and served in a private covered picnic area part way through the morning was a pleasant surprise. There was so much to see in Angkor Wat, we were really happy that we opted for the Vespa tour. We got around quickly and were able to access areas that would be impossible for a car or tuk tuk. Highly recommend!
