Full description

Meet your English-speaking guide at your hotel at 2:00 PM and drive to the quiet fishing village of Kompong Phluk and board a shared boat. Visit the serene floating village and discover the centuries-old lifestyle of the lake's inhabitants. Cruise on the Tonlesap Lake and enjoy the natural splendor of the area. After a peaceful day on the lake, return to the port and drive back to Siem Reap Town. Explore not only the biggest lake in South East Asia with its beautiful scenery, but also the culture of the local people who live on and off the water. Relax for a bit on the way back and then hop-off for a short visit to the village of Khmer with its traditional Khmer houses. Arrive back at your hotel around 7:30 PM.

Not as expected. Dry season means no boat trip.

Bus collected us and returned us to hotel. Very good. We went in the dry season. So there was no "floating" village as such just a very tall village. The river was dry so no real boat trip, we went to a floating cafe and waited 2 1/2hrs for the sunset. With no way off... Still the beer was not too expensive and the sunset was awesome.. Chilled out trip if you can handle being "trapped" on a floating cafe. Enjoyed the experience, better in the rainyseason I bet.

The floating village visit was conducted with a small group (9 ppl) and included a stop at the entry and a walk through the main village after the boat ride. After this we continued to the lake to enjoy the boat ride through the mongroves and the sunset. Average experience, would not do it again.
