3. From Siem Reap: Half-Day Tour to Beng Mealea Temple

Beng Mealea, located about 60 kilometers from Siem Reap, was built in the middle of the 12th-century, with later additions made during the reign of king Suryavarman II and dedicated to Hinduism. The sprawling jungle covers over 1-square kilometer of the temple, which is largely overrun by vegetation. You’ll have time for an in-depth exploration of this temple, taking an unusual route to see parts of its ruins that are seldom visited. The temple is now even more accessible than ever, though you can scramble over the tumbled blocks and traverse its walls to see more if you so wish.

Siem Reap: Private Street Food Tour by Bus or Bike

5. Siem Reap: Private Street Food Tour by Bus or Bike

Cambodian cuisine is the least-understood of Asian cuisines by westerners and probably the least-tasted outside of the Kingdom of Wonder. While Thai and Vietnamese food is widely recognized, Khmer food is mostly a mystery to visitors. Heavily influenced by locally-sourced ingredients like freshwater fish from the Tonle Sap, sugar cane and coconut, Khmer cuisine is a little less fiery than other south east Asian national cuisines. It has its share of surprises too, and the Khmer script, while beautiful, can make menus difficult to navigate. Take a food tour like ours at the start of your visit to Cambodia, we'll arm you with the knowledge to order confidently in authentic Cambodian eateries and enjoy ingredients and dishes you might not otherwise recognize or feel brave enough to enjoy. Our guides are passionate foodies and friendly conversationalists who will help you chat to the market vendors you meet. Enjoy an authentic, delicious and great fun evening!

Great 1/2 day tour at Beng Mealea. Can't say enough about our guide Mr Lee and our driver - both really great and made our tour very enjoyable. Finished off morning with an excellent lunch.

The price is a little high for the short visit time which is ... otherwise very good, the temple is beautiful, eaten by nature, and our guide was great, he knew quite a bit of Spanish!
