Unfortunately due to volcanic activity it wasnt allowed to hike to the summit. We got messaged about this a day in advance with an offer for an alternative past previous lava flows and craters, which we took. It still was a beautifull experience with a very friendly, experienced and knowledgeable, multi lingual guide. We didn't get to take the 4x4 bus because we were hiking on a lowere altidtude but got that refunded through get your guide.
Climb aboard a 4x4 Jeep and begin your half-day guided tour. Learn about the history and science behind the Etna volcano. Thank you yo Horacio, a super guide for this tour. We enjoyed to this tour : tasting, history, view and for sur walk on the Etna !! Lucie & Wendie
Enjoy a hike on the highest, most active volcano in Europe. Start the tour with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Catania. Climb into a comfortable 4x4 vehicle and set off for Mount Etna. Arrive at the starting point for your off-the-beaten-track hike.
As you begin to walk, admire the fascinating landscape of the Valle del Bove, the biggest depression of Mount Etna, and its moonlike deserts. From there take in the breathtaking views of the smoking summit craters and the surrounding landscape facing the Ionian Sea.
The tour also includes the opportunity to explore a lava tube with helmets and flashlights. Experience the incredible natural phenomenon created when the surface lava solidified but magma continued to flow into the tunnel.
Finally, in the afternoon, get dropped off back in Catania...
This popular 8-hour itinerary takes you to see the most interesting sites of western Sicily. With your guide you’ll visit and explore Segesta, a Greek archaeological site. Travel to Nubia and the Salt Pans in Trapani, and admire the Sicilian coast and natural landscapes en route. You’ll also stop at Erice, a medieval hilltop town. Enjoy spectacular views throughout the day. All of the sites are relatively near Palermo, meaning that you’ll have plenty of time to explore each of them. This itinerary is also known as the Elimians's Road, named for the Elimians who were among the first inhabitants of this part of Sicily.
Only my second day in Sicily, so was still getting my bearings. Marco came and picked me up bang on time and we set off through Palermo to pick up the others. Terrific driving and he gave us the history or Sicily whilst we journeyed to the west coast. There was enough time to see everything, although maybe another 30 mins in Erice would have been helpful. Come prepared with water, sun cream, insect repellent and a good pair of walking shoes. It also helps if you know a little something about Segesta and Erice before you see them as the signs only reveal pieces of history. A really lovely day out otherwise! However, I can imagine it would be hard in the high summer - I went in September 2021 and it was just cool enough to get around.
Explore Etna Park on a 6-hour tour that takes you up to the Sapienza Refuge at 1,986 meters. Return transfers from your accommodation in Catania are included in the package. At the Sapienza Refuge you’ll see both the newest eruptions of the volcano and the old Silvestri craters, dating from the 1892 eruption. Afterwards you’ll trek along a nature path through Etna Park, enjoying breathtaking views over the Bove Valley. Enter a lava cave, with a helmet and head lamp, to learn how lava flows are formed. Later, stop in the town of Zafferana, on the eastern side of Etna. In Zafferana, known as the town of honey, you’ll visit one of the most famous organic farms in the area to taste delicious local products such as honey, olive oil, and wine. You’ll be transferred to your hotel in the early afternoon.
Our guide was wonderful - very friendly, informative, and accommodating. A great basic package.
After pickup from the designated meeting point, drive to Mount Etna to begin your tour. As you ascend to a height of 2,000 meters, your professional guide will tell you about the history of the volcano and explain the unique nature to you. Giovani our guide was the best, we had such a good time and he really made our day.

Stop to admire the eventual activity of the summit craters in a safety zone according to weather conditions. Gazing over an active volcano, make memories sure to last a lifetime.
We enjoyed our tour in general, but most of the time we were driving in a bus, taking the cable cart or driving in a mountain bus. Though we didn't need to stand in a line to cable cart or mountain bus for too long, traveling took way too much time. We had less than an hour up at 2900 meters and it was just enough to take a guided tour around a crater, but not enough to explore. All that trouble for a mere 45 mins up the mountain was a bit of a disappointment. Going higher up the mountain was of course forbidden. The mountain guide who walked us around one crater was very informative and multilingual. Our own guide was very pleasant, efficient and attentive. She spoke the whole drive up and down in three languages. The bus driver was amazingly skillful and drove that monster bus like a.. well.. a pro. We had cloudy weather so no breathtaking views down, but the summit was clearly visible from 2900 and we were quite pleased to see it.
Ascend Mount Stromboli for a once-in-a-lifetime experience on top of a live volcano with a knowledgeable local guide. Start your hike through lush vegetation on the Sentiero Paesistico 250-meter trek, where you’ll already begin to see some craters. At Belvedere point, you’ll be able to see the famous talus scree, or depression, Sciara Del Fuoco. After a 20-minute walk, you’ll reach the observation point for an incredible sunset viewing point. From here, you can witness an incredible natural pyrotechnics show from the volcano. During your trek, your guide will describe the geological history of the Aeolian Islands, as well as describe the local flora and fauna, the lifestyle, and the history of human settlements in the Aeolian.
No trip to Sicily would be complete without a visit to the tempestuous territories of Mount Etna. Just jump in the shuttle bus and head out into the lunar landscape of one of the world’s most active volcanoes. At over 6,500 ft (1,981 meters), this majestic mountain dominates the coastline, concealing plenty of treasures within its lair. Starting at Rifugio Sapienza, follow the line of the old Sivestri craters down into a cave of lava formed during the eruption of 1792. From here, head to the province of Zafferana, where you'll visit a local organic farm and sample honey and wine, cultivated in the fertile soils of the region. En route to Taormina, take a look at the spectacular wildlife reserve of Isola Bella from the top. Upon arrival, spend lunch at your leisure, then re-group to check out the highlights of this unique historical town. From the old-world charm of the ancient Greek t...
Great tour. Maybe a little less Etna and more Taormina. The honey shop should be skipped and therefor we could have more time in Taormina.
With an expert guide by your side, discover the Mount Etna volcano, sitting at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level. Explore ancient craters, lava flow caves, and admire the breathtaking landscape of the Ionian coast. Enjoy a traditional Sicilian meal and free time time to explore Alcantara Park at your leisure. Dissected by the Alcantara river, Alcantara Park is a location brimming with unique vegetation, lava rock formations, and columnar basalts formed by the icy waters of the Alcantara. During the warm season, cool yourself off by taking a refreshing dip in these pristine waters or just stroll alongside the river.

My husband and I decided to take this cruise after our travel agent recommended it to us. We were so thrilled with our experience. We got lucky to be with one other couple who were the sweetest souls and made our experience that much better. Graziella and Saro are so incredibly lovely and charming--they completely made this experience as amazing as it was. The views were amazing, made better by Graziella's knowledge of the island. The boat is kept up meticulously well and we loved having the snacks they provided toward the end of our tour, after we were done swimming. My husband and I are on our honeymoon and they toasted us with prosecco which was such a beautiful gesture. Highly, highly recommend this tour, independently owned by a wonderful wife and husband team.
Although it was raining so much the day we did this excursion, they made it a really pleasant experience! They also send a message before the excursion if we wanted to do the boat tour on another day to have better weather but we didn’t had any service on our phone so we didn’t see the message. Although they didn’t know we were coming they were waiting for us! We got to swim with lots of fish because of the boat driver! We got some snacks and a drink on the boat with a nice talk with them! It was an amazing boat tour and i would recommend everyone to do this one with blue diamond!
Friendly team, good payment processing, check-in and service, delicious local lunch with water and wine, multiple opportunities to swim during the trip, ship and toilets are clean, explanations of various sights in Italian and English.
Amazing experience - fantastic boat, crew and views. Highly recommend, a highlight of our trip. Recommend bringing snorkelling mask for the swim (buy beforehand, shops along the seafront)
Great experience. Boat captain was friendly ans very informative. The food was yummy. Probably need more water on boat but otherwise great day.
