Full description

Brasov (pronounced Bra-shov), known as Kronstadt in German or Brassó in Hungarian, is the 7th largest city in Romania. It is located almost in the center of the country and surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains. The city provides a mix of wonderful mountain scenery in the nearby Poiana Braşov, and medieval history with German influences in the old town. Admire the beauty of Brasov through a 2-hour walking tour. During your medieval journey in the “Crown City” you will discover its historical and cultural sightseeings. Admire the Weavers' Bastion and go to the 4-foot-wide Rope Street (Strada Sforii). This was initially used as an access route by firefighters. Visit also Brasov Synagogue and see the Catholic Church, Post Orchard, White Tower and Black Tower. The city tour ends with some free time for you to explore on your own and have lunch. After the free time, depart for Bran Castle and the mysterious legend of Dracula, the last stop before the return drive to Sibiu via Brasov.

Had a great day! Were picked up in the morning by a very nice driver who first brought us to the castle. At the agreed time he was waiting for us again after which he took us to Brasov. Had a city tour in Brasov with a local guide who told us very interesting things about the history. Then another hour of free time and then back to Sibiu.

We had a wonderful time in the very beautiful Brashov with amazing guides and very pleasant company on the journey especially Alex our driver, but I was very disappointed when we got to Bran castle and we were not able to get through into the grounds, let alone the castle! We had to purchase entry tickets which although were not all that expensive, it was not made clear on my booking and it was a little bit embarrassing. However, the staff at bran castle were very helpful and all was made good in the end. An expensive trip, worth it but I think should include the entry fee to Bran Castle
