This was an extremely interesting insight into the side not normally seen by tourists, particularly looking at the housing situation in a very crowded Hong Kong. S.P. was a great guide showing us the area with a lot of local knowledge and willing to answer all questions. There was a walk through the animal market, flower market and the bird market as well which started the tour off. There is a little walking but not onerous but wear comfortable shoes. Do not go if you are easily upset by seeing homeless people on the streets or if you may get upset by the living conditions seen.
Our guide was brilliant, he was funny and interactive (Ami i think his name was). We saw parts of Hong Kong that we may not have as this tour is not something that Google suggests as one of the top things to do. Visiting the slum areas was the heartbreaking part, if you ever feel as though life is not good for you, this visit most certainly puts life into perspective. I wish I could do more to help the people of Hong Kong.
We booked at tour with the guide Armie. The tour was very interesting and well thought through. Through the humorous guide the tour never got boring. The length of the tour was also good. The content of the tour was shocking but every location of the tour was a good choice and at every location we learned and experienced something new. Overall it was a really great tour with a great guide ( Armie).
Terry was awesome! The tour was so informative - I personally cannot recommend it enough! Would love to say more, but I'd be giving too much away and would spoil it for anyone truly interested in going.
The tour was organised by a local guide who was funny, but was also able to convey the story behind the HK shinny stores and modern skyscrapers.
