    Originally developed as a fort for the Cordoban governors of Seville in 913, the Royal Alcázar of Seville is an amazing fusion of Christian and Moorish architecture. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987, and it has been renovated numerous times over the 11 centuries since its creation. Learn about how the Christian king Fernando III moved into the Alcázar when he captured Seville in 1248 and how several monarchs used the palace as their main residence. Also, discover the Alcázar's role as a filming location for the Game of Thrones TV series.

    An amazing place! The architecture, exhibits, displays - I thoroughly enjoyed everything. Although you can't avoid people, it's best to go very early or late in the day to avoid the crowds. The gardens were wonderful too, and if it weren't for the heat, I could have stayed another hour just wandering the grounds.

    Stunning place. Be careful with “skip the line” tickets. You don’t skip the line at all. You queue just like everyone else. It’s because you buy an e-ticket avoiding buying one at a tourist office. Very misleading as I think skip the line suggests you go to the front of the line. Still, the alcazar is stunning. If you want good photos go in early and walk straight to the gardens.

    The alcazar was beautiful. Having a skip the lone ticket does nothing though as everyone still waits in the same line to enter. Thankfully the line moved quickly though. Block out a couple hours to see everything though. The gardens are massive and so is the Alcazar. It is beautiful!
