The Trip to the Ourika valley , 68 km southeast of Marrakech , offers a pleasant tour of the lower foothills of the Atlas. Beyond the village of Tnine-Ourika , the valley , through which flows the Ourika, becomes verdant. The largest souk in the valley takes place in the village on Mondays. All along the road that follows the course of the wadi, pise hamlets, a few isolated houses and small hotels cling to the hillside. Gardens and plots of cultivated land shaded by many fruit trees are laid out along the valley bottom. Beyond Aghbalou , at an altitude of 1500 m the narrows and gently rises . The road comes to an end at Setti Fatma , a good starting point for hikes, Seven Waterfalls flow down the rocky scree above the village. The first of these is easy to reach by walking up the course of the wadi.

Marrakech to Ourika valley itinerary : (3 hours during) As we move from Marrakech to Ourika Valley waterfalls for our first part of the journey you may want to observe the lush green hillsides, Berber villages and rolling hills. There are rivers here that meander through the valley and there will be no end of opportunities to take some dramatic landscape shots on your camera. We will stop off at some of these typical Berber villages to allow you to soak in what everyday life is all about for these local peoples. As we continue our drive through the valley we begin to approach the more mountainous passes of the Atlas range by heading to Setti Fatma. There are several small (and some much larger) waterfalls along the route here and not all of them are packed with tourists. We advise you to bring along some hiking boots as we will go on a short trail through to some of the Setti Fatma Cascades (waterfalls). You should also bring with you some swimwear and sunblock as we may have an opportunity to plunge into some small pools that gather at the foot of the waterfalls. It is also a good idea to bring along a change of clothing as we could be getting up close to the waterfalls where there will be plenty of back spray to cool you down. And don’t forget to bring along some warm clothing as the end part of journey goes up to the communal society town Sti Fadma, where it can be very cool, even in summer. You should bring along a packed lunch with you on this trip but there are many cafes and restaurants in some of the Berber villages on our day trip. However, the most important thing to bring is the camera as this experience simply has to be captured on film. The hike to Setti Fatma waterfalls goes through the valley after which we shall return back to Marrakech the same way we came. Arrival back in the city is around 5.00 pm

Your departure will be scheduled around 9 am, On a distance of 64 km from Marrakech, you will travel the small roads of the Ourika Valley rushing into the high Atlas, a river surrounded by greenery. A place of walk and rest appreciated by Moroccans and foreigners, a large orchard place, the valley is located southeast of Marrakech. Between reddish slopes or clinging villages and terraces, limpid and abundant water running between the rocks watering the small meadows. 7 km further you arrive at Setti Fadma, which with its waterfalls is the most attractive place in the valley. Our tour was absolutely amazing! Jamal was an excellent and funny driver and guide. He helped us purchase great souvenirs and told us lots of neat facts about Morocco. He also had quite a few funny jokes and kept us entertained with music. I highly recommend this excursion. The hike was slightly difficult but worth it. Our local guide was very cautious and helpful. He made sure we all felt safe and we’re having fun!! 10/10 trip
