    1. South Coast Classic: Full-Day Tour from Reykjavik

On this 11-hour tour you’ll follow the coastline from Reykjavík into the volcanic and glaciated wonderland that is Iceland's south coast. Walk behind the thundering veil of spray at the Seljalandsfoss waterfall and take in the incredible views from the top of the Skógafoss waterfall. Your tour begins with a drive through lava fields, passing by the active Hengill volcano, and then down to rich coastal farmlands. On clear days you’ll be able to see the Hekla volcano, and in the distance the glacier-capped Eyjafjallajökull volcano rises majestically above the coastal mountains. Just a few kilometers off the coastline and easily visible are the volcanic Westman Islands, an archipelago of around 15 small islands, only one of which is inhabited. The first stop is at the Sólheimajökull glacier, which is every photographer’s dream. Next on the itinerary is the Reynisfjara black sand beach. S...

This was by far the best tour I did in Iceland. I honestly wish I had known about Troll tours before so that I couldn’t have booked all my tours with them. Our guide Michael was very nice and entertaining and made sure we had enough time to go see everything on the south coast. The glacier hike was also beautiful and the highlight of the trip and something I recommend everyone do!

  • Reykjavik: Small-Group South Coast Tour

    3. Reykjavik: Small-Group South Coast Tour

You will be picked up from Reykjavik in the morning by your friendly, experienced guide. From here you will start your adventure as a small group of guests traveling in the minibus, guaranteeing that your experience will be both comfortable and personal. One of your first stops will be at the Seljalandsfoss Waterfall. This falls, which are over 60 meters tall, tumble from a cliff that curves inwards. This means when there is no ice on the ground, you are able to walk behind it, allowing for some excellent photograph opportunities. Skogafoss Waterfall is next on your list. Though as tall as Seljalandsfoss, it is many times wider and much more powerful. The scale of it is incredibly impressive, especially considering the amount of spray rising as the water smashes against the rocks below. Whilst here, you will be free to walk as close to the waterfall as you dare. If the weather is clear...

Overall an awesome experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and a great storyteller. The group was indeed small, and we all had enough time at each stop to enjoy and see everything. Everyone was very friendly, and we were lucky enough to have nice sunny weather. 10/10 would recommend !

Our guide BG was amazing. You're lucky if you get him! He was full of cheeky, witty jokes, and he is extremely knowledgeable and insightful. To be honest, I was feeling under the weather. Everyone else in the trip was pretty hyped about everything and so BG was keeping up with their energy. But when he spoke to me, he matched my energy, and treated me kindly with respect. What a great guy! The trip itself was amazing too. We got very wet at the locations, from waterfalls to the black beach. So be prepared for that! It was truly awesome and inspiring. Highly recommend!

Our tour guide, Jo un (sorry, idk how to spell his name; he is from Portugal) was very knowledgeable and very funny. He makes the whole day trip so much fun. He also have us learned about the name and the meaning of each place we were going. He also made sure over and over that we’re safe on the glacier hike, and we’re happy: enjoying it. We also get to try the Viking pushups haha. I’d love to take another tour with him next time.
