2. From Phuket: Khao Lak Highlights Full-Day Tour

Venture north of Phuket to Khao Lak, known for its stretches of beach and lush jungle scenery. Explore this peaceful slice of Thai paradise on a full-day tour. The first stop is the Sarasin Bridge, one of Thailand’s most beautiful and famous bridges. It connects Phuket to the province of Phang Nga and has gained renown due to the tragic Romeo and Juliet-style story associated with it. It'll be a quick stop here to view the surrounding bay and take photos of the gazebos and elevated turrets. Then, head to the Andaman View Point, where you can admire a 360-degree view of the surrounding fields, hills, and mountains. Head to the river for the bamboo rafting activity. Board a small yet sturdy raft made out of bamboo and cruise down the river, admiring the calm waters and the abundant greenery of the area. Next, you'll make your way to the Sea Turtle Conservation Center. Located across the Khao Lak National Park in the Thai navy base, learn about the efforts the navy is going to to rehabilitate the turtles. Catch a glimpse of the numerous turtles and other endangered marine life. Take an hour to have lunch and relax near the conservation center. After lunch, head to the International Tsunami Museum and discover how the effects of the 2004 tsunami greatly affected the Khao Lak area. See the Thai navy boat that was washed ashore by a massive wave. The final destination is the Lampi Waterfall. Head over to this multi-level waterfall, walk through the rainforest trail, and even take a dip in the chilly pool before making your way back to your accommodation in Phuket.

This trip was perfect and well worth going on if you have the chance. Bao (apologies for spelling) our guide was tremendous and so welcoming. The excursions were brilliant -particularly the rafting and elephant experience. We will hold on to these memories forever. Lunch was also excellent. The waterfall was a little anticlimactic and we felt it didn’t need to be included but other than that we had no other critique. Thank you for a brilliant trip.

This was a brilliant tour. Our tour guide, Nai, made all the difference. With excellent English he talked with us about each site whilst being funny, knowledgeable and personable. Each site in the tour was great with the absolute highlight being the elephants. This was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. The elephants were treated kindly and with respect. The lunch venue was also a real winner. We highly recommend this tour

A fantastic tour that is well worth the money. It gives you an up close insight into the conservation work that is happening to help the turtles and elephants. Our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. He conducted the tour at a pace that suited everyone and you never got the feeling that you were been rushed from one location to the next that some tours give. It is a must do tour that is suitable for all ages.

Cannot say enough great things about this tour! Bao is super fun and knowledgeable. All of the included activities were really cool and the staff at each location were very friendly. The elephant experience was amazing, the elephants seemed very happy and very close with the staff there. This tour is a must if you are visiting khao lak!

Definitely highly recommended, the raft trip on a bamboo boat is absolutely brilliant!
