SkyView de Pier is the first Ferris wheel constructed over the sea in Europe. It was built at the Pier in Scheveningen and is a great possibility to get to see the city of The Hague from above.  Fly to a height of 50 meters and enjoy the amazing views over the North Sea, the beach and if you're lucky, you might even be able to see Rotterdam. Discover the history of the Netherlands' Nazi occupation at the Oranjehotel. For over 250 prisoners, this was their final destination: they were sentenced to death and executed by firing squad. With the help of your audioguide, listen to the impressive stories of the prisoners, illustrated by documents and photographs, and told in interviews and audio fragments. Hear moving stories of injustice, hunger, and insecurity, but also stories of hope, solidarity, and faith in freedom. During your visit, learn about the history of the building and the rise of the resistance. Discover what life was really like for prisoners and learn more about the disruption causeed to their families and the consequences this had after the war.

Perfect for both adults and children, bring your swimsuit and towel and enjoy a group lesson of up to 8 surfers. Meet your instructor at The Hague Beach and learn the history of surfing and all about how to stay safe while learning to surf in the water. Afterward, take the change to stand up on a surfboard and allow the waves to whisk you away. Try your best to steer left or right, or head straight as you feel the freedom of riding the wake. Allow yourself and your group to have fun as you build your confidence and master the basic skills. Don't worry if you fall off, it's all about having fun! Spend up to two hours with your group, and enjoy a day on the beach.

Head to The Hague's seaside district of Scheveningen and visit its 19th-century school building turned museum to learn about the area's history and seaside resort. Browse its permanent exhibitions on natural and cultural history and the sea. During your visit to the museum discover the tradition of fishing, including the professions that come with it, and modern seaside life in Scheveningen. Through artifacts and paintings, the museum's collection dives into what life used to be like but also how people in Scheveningen live today. Also, check out the exhibition on underwater life in the world's oceans. Examine the museum's shell, crustaceans, echinoderms, cephalopods, pearls, and mother of pearl collections. Learn about various sea creatures like the squid as well.

Come to Aloha Surfschool at the seaside resort of Scheveningen. Begin your day in the morning with a theory and safety lesson from our certified instructor. Take your surfboard into the water to start having fun. Catch some big waves and enjoy the splashes of the sea. Return to the shore and pack up your surfboard. Visit the beachside restaurant and marvel at the spectacular view. Eat lunch to help you regain some energy. Grab your surfboard and then enter the ocean for another session of surfing by yourself.
