Bali: Sunrise Mount Batur Hike with Breakfast

1. Bali: Sunrise Mount Batur Hike with Breakfast

Scale one of Bali’s natural wonders with a private, early-morning hike up Mount Batur, including breakfast and a trip to a coffee plantation afterwards.  With all entry tickets, accommodation transfers, and an expert local guide also included, the only thing you’ll have to worry about is enjoying the panoramic views.  Begin your ascent at the base of Mount Batur after an early pickup from your accommodation. You’ll even start your jungle trek on an exclusive path with fewer trekkers around. Savor the pristine night sky away from the city lights as you hike. After a 2-hour trek, you’ll then be rewarded at the top with sunrise views over the natural landscape and ocean horizon. And even better, you get to enjoy breakfast at the volcano’s summit.  On the way down you’ll enjoy more vistas, such as Lake Batur, an enormous volcanic crater lake.  You’ll also have the opportunity to stop off for a cup of local Luwak coffee at a coffee plantation before being dropped off back at your accommodation.

What a hike! We got picked up by Agus exactly on the time he said. He was very nice and we talked a bit but as we had a short night he let us just enjoy the drive in the dark. Our guide was Nova. Such a great guy! He let us rest when we needed, was running up and down between us and the 2 other girls making sure everybody is ok on the way up. We got lucky with the weather and saw the sun coming up, even got some cool pics. The breakfast was ok for most people, I’m not fan of banana but honestly you’ll survive that few hours on biscuits too. The hike was tough both up and down, but doable. Make sure to have proper hiking/trail shoes for good grip. And it’s definitely cold, especially after sweating 2 hours. Overall it was a great experience!

Our driver, Adi, was great! Very friendly and personable, even though he had to pick us up very early in the morning. We learned so much from him and he pointed out many interesting spots along the way! Our guide up the mountain was Gd, and he was also very good. The hike is quite difficult (steep, lots of loose gravel, and sometimes no clear footholds) but Gd let us stop for breaks to catch our breath many times and ensured that we were all doing okay. It was cloudy the day we went, so unfortunately did not get a sunrise, but the views of the lake and villages on the way back down were stunning. Breakfast at the top was cooked via the volcano, which was super cool, and hit the spot after the vigorous hike!

Great trip, driver was friendly to and from the destination and the guides were all excellent, once they clocked we were from London we were laughing all the way to the top as they practiced their best cockney accents. Incredible views even though it was a little cloudy at the summit.

The early hike is definitely worth it. It was an amazing experience all over. And the view is amazing. The drive there and back was great and comfortable thanks to our driver Pasek!

Amazing experience to climb the volcano in the early morning and see the sun rising and the clouds moving around quickly. Magical atmosphere!
