    All the setting were ready, boat, crew, safety guidelines once on board. Only downside was the fact we did not spot any whales. If you have the tendency to get sea sick, go prepared!

    The staff was very professional, knowledgeable and easy going, always concerned about the customer´s wellbeing and safety, they did their best to ensure that groups of dolphins were found and created the best conditions to ensure the customers had the opportunity to swim with them. Even if took the trip beyond the set scheduled time. Boat was clean, geared with all the safety equipment and fit for the purpose.

    Unwind at the hot thermal springs of an active volcano on an evening tour from Ponta Delgada. Head to the volcanic complex of Furnas in Povoação and bathe in the warm waters of Poça da Dona Beija.  Go for a guided nature walk to discover the beautiful surroundings and get plenty of opportunities to take souvenir photos of the dramatic landscapes.     Take the opportunity to see some of the sea life found in the Azores including dolphins, whales, turtles and seabirds. Before the boat trip, listen to biologists explaining the safety measures aboard, the history of the area, the local wildlife and how to respect them. Then set off! After the 3-hour whale watching tour, stop in Vila Franco do Campo to enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. Following lunch, board a converted traditional fishing boat and head to Vila Franca do Campo islet, a volcanic crater off the coast that encloses a natural lagoon. Take one of the provided snorkels and diving masks and see the numerous protected fish species in this natural reserve. Following the tour, transfer back to Ponta Delgada by boat or van.

    The whole day was fantastic. We saw several types of dolphins and also 4-5 sperm whales. The lunch was really fresh. Don't miss it!

    Following pick-up, start the drive to Furnas. Enjoy beautiful scenery along the southern coast of the island until you get to the historical town of Vila Franca do Campo. Here, reach a secluded chapel in the mountains, Senhora da Paz, to enjoy a spectacular view of the town and small island before continuing to Furnas. In Furnas, walk along geothermal fields and observe smoking volcanoes (possible to swim in thermal pools for extra fee). Watch as your lunch, the famous local cozido, is pulled from the cooking holes in the volcanic soil.     9. São Miguel: Caldeirões Canyoning Experience

    After either gathering at the meeting point or being collected from your accommodation, you will make your way to Parque da Ribeira dos Caldeirões, located in the north-east part of the island. It takes around 45 minutes to drive from Ponta Delgada. The half-day tour takes approximately 3 hours. During this time you will have the possibility of doing rappels, jumps, slides and rock slides. The highest rappel will be 15 meters, with the highest jump being around 6 meters. There will be some time for the equipment distribution with the help of your guides, before you take a short hike in order to approach the stream followed by a security briefing. On average it is about a 20 to 35-minute hike, depending on the pace of the group. Throughout the full-day option you will stop for a picnic, later finishing the tour by returning back to town by car.

    It was a really great experience. If I have to conclude it I would say that it's not the usual boring tourist activity. You have to repel down from the waterfall and you have to jump down from 6 meters. You should not fear to try it though because the guides are professional also kind and funny.
