From Bali: Swim with Manta Rays in Nusa Penida

1. From Bali: Swim with Manta Rays in Nusa Penida

Head for the island of Nusa Penida and embark on a snorkeling adventure. Take advantage of 3 different stops to swim with Manta Rays, enjoy lunch on the beach, then spend the afternoon exploring the mangrove forest. Benefit from pick-up at your hotel in selected areas of Bali, and then journey to Nusa Penida, located 20 kilometers off the southeast coast. The largest of Bali's 3 sister islands (Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida, and Nusa Ceningan), Nusa Penida is much less developed and remains home to abundant and pristine nature. Marvel at the dramatic landscape and steep cliffs along the coast as you make your way to some of the island's best snorkel sites. Upon arrival at the protected bay of Manta Bay, discover an ocean rich with plankton that attracts beautiful reef manta rays that can sometimes measure up to an impressive 4 or 5 meters in wing span. Go to 3 of the best snorkel sites on the island, including popular spots (depending on conditions) such as Crystal Bay, Toyapakeh, and Gamat Bay. As the strong swells of the Indian Ocean can impact conditions, the situation will be carefully monitored to take you to where it is safe to swim with the rays less than 1.5 meters from the surface of the sea. If conditions are not suitable, your snorkeling itinerary will be adjusted accordingly, as your safety is always the number one priority. Following your magical snorkeling adventure, break for a delicious beachside lunch at Paradise Beach on Nusa Lembongan. The lunch is served as an Indonesian food buffet. Then, get the chance to explore the mangrove forest in the afternoon by kayak, stand-up paddle board, or private gondola.

What people are saying about Sanur, Indonesia

Overall the experience was excellent. The drivers we great and the guides were brilliant and were determined to find us a Manta Ray which we did! The other two sites were beautiful coral reefs. Lunch was also great. My only criticism is that the mangrove forest tour was quite disappointing. We had two people to a kayak and we followed each other through the mangroves while one of the guys lead. At one point it got too shallow I think so we all had to turn around and go another way but that was also too shallow so we just headed back, I think overall we were only in the boats for 20 minutes which was such a shame.

Well organised trip with very friendly and helpful guides. Was lucky that waters at Manta Bay were calm enough to go in and even more lucky that they were there which was incredible. The second spot was also brilliant the natural current gently pulls you along the reef where there was an abundance of bright marine fish.

Absolutely amazing experience. Swimming with the Manta’s was a bucket list moment followed by an absolutely perfect day as a whole. Exploring reefs, mangrove forests with an amazing team and group of people. Highly recommend

It was fantastic. We saw 4 rays, lots of fish and enjoyed the mangroves. Food was great, and we were well looked after. It was choppy on the first stop but that’s not the teams fault. We felt well looked after.

Loved the tour from beginning to end snroekling was great the really looked out for you. Food was amazing and the whole experience
