  • Isla Verde, Puerto Rico: Jet Ski Tour

    1. Isla Verde, Puerto Rico: Jet Ski Tour

Experience a thrilling adventure in and around the San Jose Lagoon and all the way to the coast and beaches of Isla Verde on a 90-minute jet ski tour through the tropical waters of Puerto Rico's north coast. After a short safety briefing and training session, depart from the home base at Cangrejos Yacht Club and journey into the best waters of the Caribbean along the beaches of Isla Verde. Enjoy a memorable journey into the mangroves of the San José Lagoon, pass under the Baldorioty de Castro Bridge, all the way down to the Teodoro Moscoso Bridge, one of the biggest bridges in Puerto Rico. After, pass by the coast of the beach of Isla Verde. Make a stop to jump in the water and go through the Isla Verde coast, one of the most beautiful spots in the area. Admire the incredible scenery as you explore the water world. Let loose and experience the raw power of your jet ski.

I had never been on a jetski so I was incredibly nervous. I did not go as fast as others on the tour but I enjoyed the experience. I wouldn’t exactly call it a tour though. We were given basic instructions for about 5 minutes and a quick road map of what we would see then everyone took off. A guide was in the front of the group while another was in the back but everyone did their own thing.

  • From Fajardo: Full-Day Culebra Islands Catamaran Tour

    2. From Fajardo: Full-Day Culebra Islands Catamaran Tour

Discover an area off the beaten path on this full-day catamaran tour to the Cordillera Islands. Departing from Puerto Del Rey Marina in Fajardo, the 45-50 minute journey on the high-speed catamaran will take you to the beautiful Cordillera Islands, off the coast of San Juan. Upon arriving at the Cordillera Islands, the captain will decide which beach will have the best conditions for the day, usually Flamenco or Culebrita beach. Spend the afternoon swimming, snorkeling, beachcombing, sunbathing, or relaxing on the roof deck. Throughout the day, the bar on board the catamaran is open for all guests with Piña Coladas, Rum Punch, sodas, iced teas, and juices. A sumptuous buffet lunch is served on board, including fresh fruit, freshly baked bread, sliced meats, sliced cheeses, salads, chips, and cookies.

The island was so beautiful! It a long commute that I really didn’t care for. It was an hour bus ride from my hotel to the location. Then, it was an hour boat ride to the private island. If you get motion sickness, I highly recommend buying motion sickness medicine and sit outside the boat for the ride. Once you get to the island, you forget about everything. The staff was friendly and very helpful if you are not a swimmer. It was open bar which I loved! And the snack they gave was pretty good. 10/10 recommendation.

The hiking trip to the waterfall/river was so much fun and the tour guides were awesome. Very involved and made sure everyone was enjoying themselves. Breathtaking views and the water felt amazing cause it was so hot!! Bio Bay Kayaking was an absolute waste of time and money. For starters, the water smelled like we were kayaking in a cess pool. The water was black and smelled like rotten eggs. Didn't seem very sanitary or safe for anyone to be in. Then we were lined up in our kayaks and covered with a tarp full of sand in order to see the plankton light up (which they didn't) they clearly stated this wasn't guaranteed but according to other reviews it seems like it doesn't happen any time of the year. So we literally just got covered in sand from head to toe for no reason. I really do not recommend this activity to anyone.

Once there, hike through natural trails lined with beautiful flora and fauna, and some river wading, until you'll arrive at a hidden gem located in the heart of the rainforest. Enjoy the b...

Communication was great! Easy transportation. Instructions say to wear swimsuit, but, really a pair of sport legging type shorts would be ideal. Highly recommended lightweight (dri fit) type clothing/shirt (no cotton). You will get fully submersed in the water. Wear old tennis shoes (& old socks) with good grip & plan to discard them or machine wash them due to the soupy rainforest mud. I wore a pair of closed to Keen hiking sandals w/ great grip & they were perfect! The guides were great & take pics & email them to you. You will leave everything on the bus during both excursions. Only brought a bottled water along on trail. No lunch provided, but they stop for smoothies on the way & have a great fruit spread (pineapple, papaya, mango, avocado) for a mid-day snack. Supper (you are responsible for the payment) is early (3:30/4) and was pretty good. Your guide will share a menu & get your order once you arrive to the rainforest. Rainforest portion was amazing! Kayaking was just ok. Enjoy

The guides were great. But I would definitely take the later tour as the plankton illuminates in much darker conditions.

What people are saying about San Juan

If this is your first time jet skiing, DO IT! If you’ve already been jet skiing before, DO IT! They made it so worth while for my husband, who has never ridden a jet ski and for myself who has! Kevin and the rest of the group were so knowledgeable to make sure you understand the safety requirements as well as make you FEEL FREE FOR FUN! They were also so chill and just happy to be there! When we got going there were almost like these little obstacles that when you got through them felt so much more determined and ready to keep go full speed and fly through the water! Kevin took some great pictures of us and had us switch seats a couple times so we both got to drive and hold on. Let me say either seat was so much fun and excitingly scary in a great way!! The water was choppy a bit that day which made it even better!! Literal flying in the ocean! :D We definitely suggest taking a private tour if possible to give you that one on one time! So much more time to go faster longer! THANK YALL!

It was so much fun! We weren’t able to go to Flamenco but we still made it to the island and were swimming in The same waters. The staff was super friendly and the drinks were flowing! Be sure to bring some cash to tip&I might sure they take PayPal if not !!!! They deserve it.
