Full description

On this full-day tour you will spend 1-hour walking in the shadows of the world's tallest trees before learning about the history, craft, and science of winemaking in California’s lovely wine country.

Begin your tour with a visit to Muir Woods National Monument (or an alternative park) ahead of the crowds. Stroll along pristine nature trails and look out for native coastal ferns, clover, squirrels, foxes, and even deer.

Explore the Sonoma and Napa Valleys. Winemaking began here in California's wine country more than 100 years ago. Visit a vineyard, included as part of the day’s excursion, and enjoy a guided tour through a boutique winery, dependent on availability. Afterward, visit Napa Valley for even more tastings. The 3 wineries you will visit on this trip represent a variety of grapes, specialties, winemaking styles, and size of operation, giving you a well-rounded wine country experience and lots of new favorite wines to add to your shopping list.  Your lunch will be a gourmet sit-down meal. Sit together with your group for a table-side presentation of local wines paired with each expertly prepared course of Californian cuisine.

Make one final stop on the way back to San Francisco from the wine country at a scenic look-out point with sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands, San Francisco skyline, Alcatraz, and the Bay Bridge where you can get great photos.

everything was super except when we would be picked up in the morning. We were there 10 minutes before, after 20 minutes we got a call from the organizer so we had to take a taxi to another pick-up place because we had not been on time in the driver said.

Nice, tasty and funny day with the exception of lunch.

Nice structure of the day with an extremely humorous and knowledgeable tour guide. Visit to the redwood was special. Then to wineries, two wineries and lunch with another tasting. Wineries were interesting and organized for the group. Lunch sucked. You better sit somewhere yourself. Are enough business in Sanoma Plaza. In short, recommended but without lunch.

When I first booked this tour, I thought it looked kind of sketchy and maybe even like a scam. I was pleasantly surprised!! It was a long day, but well worth it!! We started in the Muir Woods and got there early enough, that we'd beat most other large tour groups there and it allowed for a more private Muir Woods experience. The first winery we stopped at in Sonoma gave an extremely thorough explanation of wine making and what goes into producing wines' taste. After, we stopped in Sonoma town square for lunch. We preordered the penne pasta and the meal was amazing with the selected wine pairings. Next, we stopped at two more wineries in Napa. For the tasting fees being included in this tour, we really couldn't have asked for a better way to experience the infamous valleys' wines. Roman was our guide; he did an excellent job of keeping us entertained. Some guests had been stuck in traffic with potential to miss the tour and he re-routed their uber so they'd make it. Amazing. Worth it!!
