This combination excursion was well-planned and executed. As noted, it is a very long day. You get to see the real DR. The only negative is that communication prior to arrival on what to expect was lacking. Some didn't know about the horse ride to the waterfall. This is not a horseback ride on the beach - it's up a mountain on a narrow, rocky, and very muddy/slippery trail. The horses are led by local guides who walk up and down this trail with regularity. Come to find out they work for tips only and though they certainly earn it providing local knowledge and taking pictures for you, we did not know to bring cash and could not leave them much. There are also 250 steps to climb on foot back from the waterfall. Not all were fit enough to make this trek. Recommend bringing a snack as lunch is pretty late. They do stop at a store for restrooms and souvenirs which sells some snacks/drinks. Overall would highly recommend (whales were awesome!), but not for children or elderly.

We booked the private Whale watching tour and had an amazing day. Our driver was on time, which was a good start. It saved a lot of time not having to stop at all the hotels to pick people up. I was a little nervous when I saw how small the boat was we’d be out in but the local guide and captain were great. The best part is that we could see 360 degrees so wherever there was a whale spotted, we could see it. Our guide, Jose, anticipated well how the whales would come up next, so we got a lot of sightings. On Bacardi Island he got us oriented and settled and then we got to let them know when we were ready to go. In all, a great experience! Highly recommend for anyone that doesn’t want to be part of the big tour bus experience!

Versailles, top.

The guides were very nice and helpful. Just be aware that the boat is not very large. Total of 10 people max. You are very close to the water so you don't get the view from high up. However you also don't have to deal with a lot of people all trying to get a view from one side of the boat or the other.

Excellent full day trip quite impressed the company had translators for the German tourists. Downside to many people got sick from the rough sea we did not stay longer whale watching do not eat anything couple hours before any boating trip. Great job.

Breathtaking!

Prepare yourself for a full day trip! I was at Versailles for about 7 hours! It is so large and there is so much to take in!
