3. Salalah Long Weekend | Lush greenery, waterfalls & rivers
Day 1 - East Of Salalah Arrival to Salalah: Fly to Salalah and arrive before 9:50 a.m. Leave from Salalah airport around 11am. Lunch: Enjoy a fresh sea food lunch in Mirbat, a charming fishing coastal town where we will explore its fort and harbor and drive through its many old houses. Wadi Shaboon, Ashor & Teeq sinkhole: We will have a 20 minute walk in the green wadi before heading to a beautiful road trip to see Teeq sinkhole passing by the mountains of Ashor. Jebel Samhan cloud views, bbq & Glamping : See the magnificent view of the clouds underneath the mountains and gather around the fire in the cold weather, have dinner, play a friendly game of cards, have some toasting marshmallows and glamp in the beautiful mountains of Samhan under a sky full of stars. Day 2 - East Of Salalah Wadi Darbat: Head to the waterfall, see the valley & have an optional paddle boat or kayaking experience then head to the top for an amazing viewpoint. Ayth Athum: The drive to Ayn Athum is mesmerizing as there is lush greenery that covers both sides of the road. We will hike to see one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Salalah. Tawi Atair sinkhole: Stop by one of the deepest natural sinkholes in the world, 100 meters wide and 211 meters deep. Baobab Trees & Anti Gravity Point: Stop to see a unique type of African tree. Their presence here shows an impressive botanical link of Dhofar with Africa. Next to these amazing trees, we will see an anti gravity point where the car drives in neutral. Taqa castle & viewpoint: Visit the most popular castle of Dhofar region. It has been turned into a museum and it showcases the lifestyle of Omani people during old times. Day 3 - West of Salalah Ain Garziz & Ittin: Rejoice in the delightful view of the natural spring waterfall of Ain Garziz & the amazing viewpoint of Ittin usually covered with a thick fog where we will enjoy the cool breeze and light drizzle. Ayn Khor Waterfall: This waterfall appears in the months of July and August, but not every year. The waterfall was there in 2016, 2018, 2021 & 2022. If we are lucky this year, we will visit it. Ain Ishat waterfall: Take a walk between the trees all the way to the beautiful waterfall. Mughsayl beach & Marneef blowholes: After a very scenic and exciting drive, we will see a rewarding view of the ocean from Marneef cave where we will also experience jet streams gushing out from the blowholes in the area. Hidden beach & viewpoint: Explore a hidden beach in the area and check an incredible viewpoint. Shaat viewpoint & Al Fazayah beach: Enjoy breathtaking views overlooking the Arabian Sea from a height of more than one thousand meters (if the clouds are not hiding the view) Back to Salalah: We will back to the city at around 4:30pm and will drop the ones leaving Salalah back to the airport or to the city otherwise
