Full description

Head straight to the fast track entrance for security checks and step inside one of Spain's most visited monuments. Explore Antoni Gaudi's unfinished masterpiece of the Sagrada Familia – the UNESCO-listed site that dominates the Barcelona skyline.

With the handy audio guide, walk through the history of this beautiful basilica that has been under construction since 1882. Find out why Gaudi took over the project from the original architect, Francisco de Paula del Villar.

Admire the combination of neo-Gothic and Art Nouveau design features and see what made Gaudi's work stand out. From impressive facades, mesmerizing playful shapes, and stunning colorful mosaic details, the Sagrada Familia's design makes it a one-of-a-kind place of worship.

Gaudi began working on the Sagrada Familia exclusively from 1914 until he died in 1926. A remarkable feat of design, it remains a work in progress today – constructed using materials from Gaudi's workshops and continuing the ideas found in plans and photographs.

While unfinished, the basilica remains a must-see attraction and an important site that preserves the great architect's forward-thinking, discipline-breaking, symbolic visions.

The tickets were perfect but the audio guide was not easy to follow as it used terms to direct us that if you had never been to La Sagrada Familia were very difficult to follow as they used terms to direct you that would not be common to the average person. Moreover, the internet connection cut out many times because the reception in the interior of the La Sagrada Familia is sketchy. This resulted in my wife and I redoing many of the audios and not being able to listen at all to the last 2 audios (7 and 8). A better solution would be a head set offered from the site rather than and internet connection.

I can only say that the experience was exceptional, the marvelousness of the church was accompanied by an evocative audio guide that allowed you to enter this great work at 360 degrees. I can say that it was just like a journey and moment by moment it hid great surprises so much that you hoped it would never end.

A young man helped us install the audio guide on the phone. We couldn't have done it without him. The audio guide information contains no more than can be read anywhere. There is certainly one or the other that can be improved here. But the construction of the cathedral took more than 100 years!
