Full description
Experience 2 of the world's hemispheres in a single day on a visit to the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, and visit the historic home of British astronomy. See the world-famous Meridian Line, and stand with one foot in the eastern hemisphere and one in the west. Established in the 17th century, it was at the Royal Observatory where the great scientists of the time precisely mapped the stars to help navigate the seas. The Greenwich Meridian was chosen as the Prime Meridian of the world in 1884, forever putting Greenwich on the map! Learn about the discoveries of great scientists and inventors based at, or associated with, the Royal Observatory, including Harrison, Newton, Halley, Bradley and Airy. See the Octagon Room, the centrepiece of Flamsteed House, designed by Sir Christopher Wren and one of his best-preserved interiors in London. Take in one of the most loved views of London and gaze across royal Greenwich Park, the City of London and the River Thames. You can also visit the modern Astronomy Centre and touch a 4.5 billion-year-old meteorite from outer space, or take an awe-inspiring journey through the wonders of space at the Peter Harrison Planetarium.

Nothing much there, good if u wan a easy and slow day. Alot of sitting area, elderly friendly place. Biggest challenge is for those who use uber to and back. All uber can never get pick and drop off point correctly. The door guard is very helpful, when I told him uber hv issue dropping me off that morn, he say yes, tt hapn every day. he can forsee all of us will hv the prob with the uber pick up when we leaving too. Gave us the postal code to tell the uber but still ... all our uber didn't come to the correct pick up point.

Great museum about time. I hadn't expected that before. You can really spend a lot of time there. Unfortunately I didn't have that much time. The GetYourGuide voucher must be exchanged for a ticket on site. That's a bit weird. You have to send the ticket to an email and then you get a ticket. I think there is a better way to solve this.

Actually, we only booked to get the prime meridian on the photo. Afterwards we noticed that a thinner steel line can also be reached for free through a swing door (black lattice door on the wall below the observatory). But the entrance fee is very worthwhile. We were amazed at how complex exact time measurement is. The history of location determination and time measurement is explained in several rooms. There are the first astronomical devices, a giant telescope, old clocks whose mechanics you can take a close look at, a route "from the pendulum clock to GPS" and thus "from local time to global computer-based time measurement" TIP: A children's museum guide is available in the museum shop for £6 explanations and quizzes. Perfect for our knowledge of English ;-). It's also in all the other important places in Greenwich. This is how you can spend a whole day in Greenwich as an adult. Maritime Museum is free and very worthwhile.
