Full description
Take a journey to the heart of ancient and medieval Rome, the cradle of Baroque art, on an art treasure hunt on the city’s streets. Experience the treasures of Rome in a brand-new way and put the observation skills of your whole family to the test. An experienced activity leader will be available to personally guide you and your family on this 3-hour game that’s been designed for both the young and older family members. See the 4 Rivers Fountain, spot the starting point, and start your art treasure hunt in the heart of Campus Martius. Along the way you’ll come across squares that were transformed into city lakes, pagan temples that became churches, and fantastic animals turned into stone fountains. In Piazza Navona and Campus Martius you’ll admire the works of Bernini and Borromini and then plunge into a network of alleyways, following the clues closely. Follow the tracked indications on the map in your reference book, searching carefully around you. Challenge other family members, and immerse yourself in the historical framework and in the interesting stories related to each clue. You’ll receive a book that outlines the itinerary, and provides a detailed map showing the main points of interest, 12 clues with pictures, coordinates, and detailed descriptions of the works of art. It also contains interesting stories and information about the area, and a final 12-question quiz to test what you learned during the tour. With your headset you’ll be able to follow the presentation made by the activity leader who will ensure that the hunt is animated and interesting throughout.

One hour too long, but my kids really enjoyed it.

This was a three hour two, and I think it would have been fine to fit into a two-hour format. Our guide was very knowledgable and great with the kids - a former art history major, who knew four languages. The treasure hunt format was a great way to get our kids really engaged with their surroundings; they spent the next few days looking at walls and fountains for more animals and hidden symbols.
