It took us a while to file the starting point, but once the tour started, it was another excellent experience. The tour guide, an archaeologist was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and extremely informative. We have visited the Colosseum several times, but had never taken the underground tour. And seeing it at night made it even better.

The tour is worth the money because you get an uncrowded and nearly private tour (25 people) with great night time views. If you just book a daytime tour, it’s you and thousands of others. Your get a one hour guided tour outside from GetYourGuide, and an hour in the coliseum with their guide.

This small group tour of 15 people was incredible. The first part is on the outside, walking around the entire building and learning about the building and surrounding area. The 2nd half is inside, which all 3 of us (near our 60's) just felt was incredible. The guide was interesting, informative and not overwhelming. The lighting inside really helped you in imagining what it was like back in the active days. Plenty of space and time to take photos without crowds. Well worth every penny. Highly recommended, book well in advance.
