Full description
Piazza del Campidoglio is a beautifully-designed square by Michelangelo, which faces St Peter’s Basilica. Capitoline Hill is one of Rome’s seven hills and the most visited, due to its proximity to the Capitoline Museum. It’s here you can see exceptional displays of art, paintings, artifacts, and sculptures, including the legendary She Wolf statue. Throughout your tour, you can explore both of the museum’s buildings; the Palazzo dei Conservatori (conservatory building,) and the Palazzo Nuovo (new building), which face each other and are connected by an underground tunnel. The kids will also be taken back to ancient Rome, as they enjoy hearing about the myths and legends as seen painted on the walls of the museum. They will learn how the bronze and marble statues were made, and will also encounter some of Percy's characters along the way. Famous books will come to life as the children discover all there is to know about Greek and Roman mythology through interactive games. The whole family is guaranteed to enjoy this 2.5-hour journey investigating ancient myths, meeting Olympian gods, and finding satyrs and different creatures.
